  1. Ah... OK, I see. But in BOTH cases - this command line will NOT do the DREAM: to fix the *ISO* content *BEFORE* setup but will fix or change the RUNNING system, correct? If so - You can see the *.REG file attached to the 1-st post... I checked it works pretty fine, fixing also freshly installed system. So what is the point to use rundll32 invoking SetupAPI directly instead of just running this *.reg file once?..
  2. I have tried exactly the following: make nLited ISO with RVM UP 2.0.2a, and immediately after that REPLACE INTL.inf in this ISO with the one You mention, original from XP SP2. Not good at all: setup like HANGS right BEFORE displaying the attended Regional page. I checked very well on the identical ISO, one with nLited INTL.inf makes setup OK but with missing languages, one with original INTL.inf makes setup HANG, the rest is identical bit-to-bit. And NOW: if I do use trick from the post 1 of this topic (adding the *.DL_ and *.HL_ You've mentioned and adding entrees in TXTSETUP.sif - thses TWO steps makes no help) - may be I should also change INTL.inf as a third step and this in summary will help?
  3. Thanks for pointing to this KB, but still the same question remains: NEW locales are fine but where the OLD locales gone after 2.0.2a and nLite RC6 - Cyrillic, Baltic e.t.c. ? And how to turn them back (especially BEFORE running setup and creating nLited ISO) ? I guess this is THE questions actual in the scope of current topic...
  4. By the way, the FACT is exactly the same RVM UP 2.0.2a with exactly the same nLite-ment but on nLite RC5 instead of RC6 - made no any keyboard/languages problem... So for RC5 the RVM UP 2.0.2a was doing the same with INTL.inf , or?.. Does it mean the REAL changes here are RC5->RC6..
  5. Sounds good - and could this explain WHY my clean test with Your trick failed, because I have done absolutely nothing with INTL.inf - only with TXTSETUP.sif as You described. Right? So - which INTL.inf should I use in order to make Your workaround (with adding those *.dl_ and *.hl_ PLUS entries to TXTSETUP.sif) WORK? I am using nLine RC6 and RVM UP 2.0.2a in "one go", and I lost the track a bit: to which INTL.inf You replaced nLite-d one? GeorgeR
  6. Hi, thanks... But please see my short report in http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=67102 (original topic You've started). QUESTION: WHEN to use this command line and sould I combine it with adding those *.dl_ and *hl_ and adding entries in TXTSETUP.sif ? I mean how to use that rundll32 command - BEFORE even starting nLite, AFTER finishing nLite but before creating final ISO and booting the setup, or AFTER setup is completed? After setup is completed - the attached REG file (1-st post here) helps perfectly, the MAIN question/problem is *BEFORE* creating final ISO make setup's Regional dialog work properly. Of course assuming I am NOT running Regional page un-attended as the rest of setup... As I told already REMOVING or leaving keyboards and languages seems makes no difference, what I did NOT check is Your trick (1-st post in the other topic) if I leave all languages and keyboards, I only did one test removing everything except Russian (and English of course). thanks for any help... George
  7. I found only a time for one good clean test, unfortunately the 1-st posted trick does NOT help it out. Conditions: all absolutely clean, source is original XP SP2 VLK, nLite RC6, RVM UP 2.0.2a, I remove whole keyboards and whole languages except only Russian keyboard and Cyrillc-Russian language, applying what said in 1-st post - THE SAME behaviour during setup, languages and keyboard lists are screwed-up. According to PREVIOUS more detailed test without this trick: THE SAME thing whatever I do LEAVE whole keyboard and languages sections un-touched so not removing anything or I remove all expect I need as stated above...
  8. Hello. Look, colleagues, what we've got today: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=67102 Wow... On first look - looks very promising, but these days, weekend and whole next week I do not have physical time to implement this nice idea. Could anybody play a short rock'n'roll according what is advised to CHECK how it is, especially with Cyrillic/Russian, does it helps DURING the setup or not e.t.c.? I would say big thanks... As I am not sure I will have time for the test this and next week including weekends.. GeorgeR
  9. Hello. Basically YES, almost exactly, with one good addition: You can REMOVE any un-needed languages and keyboards, to save some real space on the media, with this REG applied on fresh system it is not a problem to touch languages and keyboards - I did test very well it DOES NOT MATTER whether You are removing all except one language/keyboard or leave everything un-touched - the behaviour is THE SAME, the REG attached to first post helps, so why just keep those a lot of extra megs inside the ISO if You are doing this only for particular PC(s) with the same languages needed?.. The only thing I did NOT test - vice-versa removal as mentioned here above, so remove what You actually need and leave what You don't need, but as I see above - it makes not that much difference anyway, conslusion is probably with RC6 whatever You left ot remove makes no sence for those un-lucky Cyrillic and Baltic language groups... GeorgeR
  10. Thanks a lot, so at least this is THE workaround. Actually I have even very well guessed that I need to apply the REG file *AFTER* installation is complete, simply because how otherwise and where can I *apply* the REG file BEFORE first log on to freshly installed XP?.. definitely NOT on working XP under which I ran nLine But the main pain is how to modify INTL.inf *BEFORE* the installation (so basically before creating or burning the ISO to boot setup from) in order to get the choice of Baltic/Cyrillic in the Regional dialog during graphical stage of setup... Obviously REG file doesn't help at *that* moment, and it seems only INTL.inf guides the Regional dialog of setup what to display in the lists... So the trick is to EDIT the INTL.inf before making ISO and running setup, isn't it, the whole question is WHAT to change/add/remove... I am asking because You mentioned something very promising and probably close: first step is to "FIND" something in INTL.inf, that's nice, but now we need the last thing to know: how to FIX it... By simply searching for 'Cyrillic" in this wrongly-nLited INTL.inf I see a lot in there about "Russian", but that's something wrongly generated... I can imagine there are more people who will also say You Great thanks in advance... George Use these reg files AFTER Windows install
  11. ... and not only DURING the installation process, but it seems also AFTER the installation, using Control Panel "Regional..." applet - the same thing, no Cyrillic/Baltic/e.t.c. listed to add/change.. Any final statement is this done by RVM UP 2.0.2a or by something new in nLite RC6? And the original solution mentioned in 1-st message in this topic: could we please get real step-by-step on how to modify INTL.inf (I can FIND string "Cyrillic" but it shows everything is there OR I have no idea how to understand the INF section names and syntax correctly) and when to use the attached REG file ? I can confirm that, I've got the exact same result. I doesn't matter if you select Keyboard/Language for removal or not, it just removes a lot keyboard/languages resulting in not selectable during the installation process (locale/langauge settings).
  12. UPDATED: no, I checked, sure it makes NO sence if do not touch anything in Removal section of nLite. I compare, so if I do not remove Keyboards and Languages - INTL.inf is bigger than if I remove everything except Russian, but rhe behaviour is exactly the same in both cases... -------------- It seems to me YES I DID, and this is THE trouble (but let me do one more clean check): As I could recall tried to do nLite-ment with RC6 and RVM UP 2.0.2a even with not touching any "Keyboards" and "Languages" in "Remove Components" screens, and even KEEPING them all in "Removal" section the bad magic is it seems the INTL.inf is still becoming that or another way wrong so Cyrillic and Baltic groups are messed-up and not offered for choice... Sounds strange but of course this is a very logical step, indeed, just leave everything in "Removal" section un-touched. To make sure all other conditions are identical (version of nLite, Update Packs used e.t.c.) I'll try to re-do the check... What I can conclude for sure is, as I said, absolutely identical conditions with RC5 makes no this behaviour. Nuhi, could You may be at least confirm or deny from other feedbacks about the last statement (RC5 vs RC6 with the same RVM UP 2.0.2a)?
  13. Hello... Oh-h. :-( I am suffering really a lot from this bug... Just now I noticed that I have not got the idea WHAT TO DO with INTL.inf. Your solution says to "FIND" something, but says nothing about what to DO and how to modify it. And when to use that REG file, right after the setup is finishes, or... For Russian, I am now in complete mess, trying to follow Your advise, I see in nLited INTL.inf the following, the total about Cyrillic: ----------------------------- [LG_INSTALL_5] CopyFiles = NLS.LGFiles.Install.Cyrillic,KBD.LGFiles.Cyrillic,Cyrillic_Fonts,AGT.DLL.LGFiles.Cyrillic,AGT.HLP.LG Files.Cyrillic AddReg = NLS.LGReg.Install.Cyrillic,KBD.LGReg.Install.Cyrillic,Font.NonCP1252.Substitutes [LG_REMOVE_5] [NLS.LGFiles.Install.Cyrillic] c_866.nls ; What should I remove or add? Could You please explain it, as for me this is THE real "showstopper" error... Huge THANKS in advance... George
  14. Great thanks. The last question is actually WHEN use this REG - I am just installing the nLited image on NEW box, is the sequence like this: 1) Creating nLite-d ISO with RC6 and RVM pack 2.0.2a, just as I did before, 2) In the result - CHANGE the INTL.inf in the way You gave, 3) Make an installation, in Regional Settings screen of setup the Russian will appear correctly, 4) On freshly installed system after first start run this REG ? Is this correct? Also I checked just replacing complete INTL.inf on nLited XP with the one from original XP SP2: it failed, it seems hanging during setup just before showing Regional Settings dialog.. I am sure, when I changed nLited INTL.inf back - it works fine (but with no Russian of course). WHY simply replacing only INTL.inf has such a serious consequences in nLited installation? GeorgeR Here is FIX for Russian, Serbian (Cyrillic), FYRO Macedonian, Uzbek Cyrillic, Tatar, Mongolian Cyrillic, Bulgarian (Latin) and Russian (Typewriter) GRAB IT in start of this topic with support for both Unicode and non-Unicode programs B)
  15. Hi, wow... Could You please help me about absolutely the same problem but with missing Russian language? I am using RVM 2.0.2a and nLite RC6. Complete mess - which program is damaging language list, RVM pack OR nLite RC6?.. George
