Thanx Alanoll but it does concern me why explorer is accessing the internet instead I.E. I will attempt repair the change somehow. It doesnt fill me with confidence when I do use IE.

After not using I.E. for some time I have noticed when I do use it the shell for explorer tries to access the internet instead of I.E. I cant backtrack when it happend but think it might have something to do with a soft called safeXP or from windows update patch. I have been using firefox/opera instead. I can load I.E. initially but then explorer tries to access the internet instead, does anyone know any reg tweaks I can use to point to iexporer instead of explorer or any utils/tweaks soft which could fix this??? Dont think this is virus/trojan/spyware related. There again does it matter if explorer is now internet explorer. Any thoughts or fixes appreciated.

After installing .net v1.1 & all current windows xp update patches from windows update I cant log into hotmail after typing my name & password an error message comes up saying my cookies are turned off but they are not not have checked IE, NIS & other 3rd party software. I have 2 operating systems on my PC with current windows update patches installed including win98 & it too says the same error whilst logging into hotmail but win98 has different software running so its not 3rd party software causing this. The only way around this I have found is to click on tools/mail and news/new message this will let me log in but why cant I log in normally. Is this something to do with .net or may be a new bug??? Any help is much appreciated. Jay
