why in the hell are you making a whole new disc every other WEEK?
what you need to do is put a folder called like Apps, inside your image, with the program installers, and use SetupComplete.CMD, to install the exe's

"use the original install.wim
hive in to regedit.exe the software [in system32\config\]
export to the packages
with notpade replace
"Visibility"=dword:00000002
to
"Visibility"=dword:00000001
save it and import it back to regedit.exe [ click it twice, u should take owner and full access first]
remove the Owners dirs of all the packages [ save it from time to time so u wont get mistake and need to go back]
"
what is the path in the registry?
i'm just sapposed to magically know where the hell in the whole registry visibility is set to 2?
ddoes anyone have the full path to where this key is?
sorry for being such a pain in the a**
~EDIT~
i think i figured it out
[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Component Based Servicing\Packages]
i'm pretty sure that's the path to the registry where your sapposed to edit the visibility, to reveal hidden packages

yeah, i do that, i was just wondering why it's required
i keep getting error 87 with this command: DISM /Image:C:\Mount\ /Remove-Package /PackageName:"C:\Mount\Windows\servicing\packages\Microsoft-Hyper-V-Common-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514.mum"

you keep talking about this installwimtweak, where is the download link? not a thread, but the actual download link?
and i'm using dism to run this command, becasue dism supersedes pkgmgr
DISM /Image:C:\Mount\ /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Hyper-V-Common-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514.mum
and DISM fails with error code 5, cannot unmount C:\MOUNT\Windows\System32\Config\*
why can't dism unmount the offline registry?

i'm trying to do it to an offline image, yet it dosen't work

um, there the exact same thing, the only difference is OPK is targeted at OEM's, and OPK includes packages for WinRE

it won't work for me for some reason, do you just call pgmgr, or do you give the path to pkgmgr?
i'm just calling pkgmgr

thanks, you think i wasn;t fed up, i've been trying to get this to work for days, and i have Windows 7 OPK installed, does pkgmgr service a Windows 7 Image properally?
i don't think so
DISM keeps giving me error 5: Access Denied to C:\Windows\System32\Config\FILES AKA the registry files
here is my command
DISM /Image:C:\Mount\ /Remove-Package /PackageName:Microsoft-Hyper-V-Common-Drivers-Package~31bf3856ad364e35~amd64~~6.1.7601.17514

in AMI bios, you can use the /X flag to make it skip the ROMID checks, Intel BIOS probably have a simular flag,

i'm not going to be using this OS for any server work ASIDE FROM MEDIA CENTER STREAMING TO MY XBOX, do i need to keep all the different server roles?
do i need IIS?
basically i want Aero, and the packages for a normal home install, but nothing more, what can i safely remove?
can i remove Natural Languges? there taking up roughly 600mb in the WinSxS folder, and i don't use natural languages
how can i remove multiple versions of the same file in the WinSxS?
example: x86_microsoft-windows-os-kernel_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.17568_none_6e05bd18128a1c84
x86_microsoft-windows-os-kernel_31bf3856ad364e35_6.1.7601.21671_none_6e7d87f12bb626de
there the same file, but different versions, why do i have to have these? there just wasting space, there not helping at all.
