  1. It was manual package removing via Batchfile and Win Integrator can do this but automatically just "another" vLite
  2. The first is via vLite and the second via WIn Integrator, but Integrator is still alpha and IE cannot be removed - I tested it and maybe Windows 7 Tool Kit but Tool kit looks only for tweaks.. And the last is something like Win Integrator but its manual via batch file at least what I read in this topic Or do you have a specific question?
  3. Sounds good.. but what about WAIK? Is WAIK needed for this?
  4. Win integrator can do something. Integrate hotfixes and Language pack also And Win Integrator is somewhere around here and its intended only for 7. Note Win Integrator is in Alpha 3
  5. Maybe there is small solution with Win Integrator. I have this prog and its little bit.. uncompleted. IE still cant be deleted.. I thing this is good vLite follower when it will be usable for everyone and small thing here: component description (and dependency) is nowhere...
  6. This is intended only for PortableApps.com, not for Windows. I'm using PA.com so I know everything about this stuff.
  7. I studied all of posts here, about vLite-ing Win 7 so I'm joining. I used Home Premium 32bit, 64bit will be soon.. In my own test, I vLited my RC 7100 to 1,18 GB, I thing this is good result for one-year old vLite. I post my universal preset, no problems during install, tested on Virtual PC 07. I left Czech unchecked, system is designated to (maybe for) my Laptop. Important: Windows Update removed, its useless for me now. Same thing for next "Needed components". This is only test to preview and investigate critically needed components in main release of OS. Also, I tested it with Dependent component removal method, I use it for "Mass Tuning". Unattended not included, originally set czech as main keyboard input, not set here. Estimated ISO capacity: 1,18 GB, installed (I presume) something about 2-5 Gigs WITH Pagefile (and maybe Hibernation cache aka Hiberfile.sys). In tweaks, Paging executive disabled for less HDD load. You can disable it if needed... Please report back via PM if something fail I'll try to repair. Thanks Main_Preset.ini
  8. (Please note, I was unable to search any topic about networking like this, so I'll start this one.) Hello, I'm new here, but I know something about nLite and vLite family programs. I've successfully completed nLite Win XP Home (which occupies 400 MB on HDD) and next to it is testing run of vLited Windows. So, what I want? I bought Acer TravelMate class laptop, which has RJ-45 (LAN) connector and this is for my desktop too (integrated in MB). Also I have modem/router with four LAN connectors. And this is reason why I'm going to build small home network with one static computer and my laptop. But after this nLiting and vLiting there is only a pair of components needed for networking. So, I want to ask You for a help, please. First, what components are needed for networking in Win 7 or Vista? Win 7 and Vista are in 80 percent on same core, so I can say it's one system. I also know that NETWORK EXPLORER will take care about browsing entire network, but what about NET.EXE? There must be something that can make "first way" to other computer. Windows 7/Vista system will be on laptop which also has Wi-Fi and Bluetooth too. And this is reason for keeping Infra-red and Wi-Fi support. Second, what to do with XP Home? I know it will be easier to use Win 7 or Vista on "Static", but this computer is really old (1.8 GHy CPU, 1 Gig of RAM, 18+7,5 GB of HDD and other user of this PC doesn't like any changes with OSes), it will be better to use Win XP here. At least. Also, NET.EXE will do first job, what next? Maybe there is a solution. If I keep NET, maybe I can use it for obtaining laptop's IP address and shortcut icon on static computer's desktop will do the rest. Second problem I want to ask You for help is networking from laptop. I've mentioned that laptop has Wi-Fi and Bluetoth, are there extra components besides NAP/EAP? And for last, my laptop will not be connected directly to router across LAN, it will be connected directly to other computer with internet access. Lets presume that the computer with internet access will not be nLited (Here is Win XP Home, too.) Thanks a lot, any help is appreciated...
  9. (Excuse my english, I'm middle-school student) Hello, I'm kukulin, a vLite and nLite family programs fan and also Czech Windows family OS tuner. I am writer/subscriber on www.ddworld.cz , site created by "typical" PC users for other users, no professionals. I've joined to the forum for some help about Windows 7 RC which I have. And I must say it helped me. Win 7 is running really good. I'm also looking for maximal performance in Vista, but Vistas will be outdated soon... But anyway, I successfully completed Windows Xp Home, I call it Home Edition BruteForce!, which is enough small system to fit on one CD media and the same is for XP Pro, known as Professional Gamer. Yes, I tune my OSes for games, but I haven't time to play it, so I'm looking for best use, best performance and functionality, these "rules" (I can say) applies to Windows Vista and Windows 7 family OSes, too. Also, I use Lite family programs to decrease Hardware requirements on notebooks and netbooks... Again, hello from Czech Republic!
