Hi guys, maybe someone can help. This used to work fine but somehow recently it does not anymore. Don´t know why. As you can see on the attached pic, there is no Internet Explorer symbol and entry on the new start menu anymore after unattended installation is finished. Instead there is a new symbol which only leads to the Internet Explorer settings. Any idea what I might have changed and how I would get the "default" behaviour back there ? Thanks ! bye, Alex

otoh ... maybe this" if exist" part works fine ... I was just confused for a moment ... Did you try this yet ??
-
ah ... I hate it if people edit their posts ... yes, the Windows media player part looks ok ... but I am not sure if the above 3 lines with "if exist" should be in there .... I think this could be wrong .... Bye, Alex

j4ever: I don´t understand: all you would have to do is remove the CDROM variable and insert the correct path ... something like %systemdrive%\install etc ... but this depends on your path ... but all you need is in your runonceex already ... you just have to exchange a few letters in the path of my code ... So I don´t get the problem ... ?
-
and when adding it to the runonceex.cmd it would be somewhat like this:

worked fine.

ok, I thought I might search nevertheless and came up with this ... MPSetupXP.EXE /Q:A /R:N /C:"setup_wm.exe /DisallowSystemRestore /Q:A /R:N" it´s for WMP9 but I will try it for WMP10 ...

Hi guys, so now that the player is officially available ... I tried installing it silently using mp10setup.exe /Q but I got a message saying System restore is turned off. (see pic). Any idea how to silently install it with system restore off ? I have to confess, I did not use the search before posting this ... please be tolerant in your reaction and thanks ! Bye

.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack
midiboy replied to OutTrendz's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Hi guys, thanks for your tips and sorry for the redundant question, my2001. So I found something in the temp folder, but it was no msi but an msp file. I was able to silently install it using the /quiet /norestart switches, however, I am not sure if this is actually an update to SP1 or if it replaces the original framework 1.1 installer. The msp file is 18,3 MB in size and the NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe is from this website Thanks for your help ! Alex -
.NET Framework 1.1 Service Pack
midiboy replied to OutTrendz's topic in Unattended Windows 2000/XP/2003
Hi ! mhh, I don´t understand .... I downloaded the German version (NDP1.1sp1-KB867460-X86.exe) from the official Microsoft page and extracted it using Winrar but I did not get any msi ...only those 3 files: PatchExec.exe Microsoft.WindowsInstaller.dll Microsoft.WindowsInstaller.Package.dll strange, huh ? any ideas ? Thanks, Alex -
HI Benjamin, I yesterday downloaded version 2.0.44 but somehow this new dimension thing is not working correctly. When opened, Wihu´s dimensions are now a bit too small so part of the last item is cut of ( see pic ) I then tried to change dimensions like this: [settings] dimension.update=0 dimension.width=550 dimension.height=500 This should set the Wihu window to 550x500 and not update install.ini right ? Well, it doesn´t work. Wihu always opens with the same size as originally. Bye, Alex

GJ, I am all for it ( MSI for ATI drivers ) but since they come out with new drivers every few weels this would mean regular work for you ... do you have the time for this ? Bye, Alex
-
Hi Alanoll, a few questions remain ... 1. why the driver setup if drivers are already installed through the OEMPnPDriversPath method ? 2. I guess for the driver setup one needs a iss file and setup is called with the -s switch ?? 3. The same goes for the control panel installation ? 4. What happens if all of this is running on a system with no ATI card present ?? Wouldn´t this somehow mess up the system ? I would love to have both NVIDIA and ATI drivers in my unattended setup but contrary to the NVIDIA drivers which install fine using the OEMPnPDriversPath method and won´t cause problems on system with ATI cards, the ATI drivers or at least control panel could cause problems on systems without an ATI card. Bye, Alex

true, did not think about that yet But still, an about button with link to Benjamin´s homepage and this subforum, version number, etc. would be nice anyhow ... Bye, Alex
-
Hi Benjamin, just two very very small things I noticed ... 1. You changed DefaultHome from Environment section to User section and called it Home ... but install.ini´s examples section still says "DefaultHome" in Environment section ... 2. Glad you switched to build numbers but how about adding an "about" button or something to Wihu so once could actually see which build one is using ? Thanks as usual ! Bye, Alex
-
Hi Alanoll thank you ! Everything works fine now, thank you very much !! Bye, Alex
-
Hi again, found another small problem ( new to the last version, this worked fine earlier ): XStartmenu= 0 is ignored. The installer creates a Winamp folder in the Startmenu nevertheless. Bye, Alex

I second all these wishes including a GUI control for renaming the Admin account

Hi Alanoll, thanks, CD Audio is enabled now but I could not get this Internet connection thing to work. I tried both XINET=0 or INET=0 but internet connection was always set to disabled after installation.
-
Hey Alanoll, just to be clear on this now ... do I have to add something to the ini now to enable those two settings ? If not, I fear that others might not want those settings to be on by default ( especially the internet connection thing ) although I, of course, could live with it ... :-) Bye, Alex
-
Hey Alanoll, I attached a screenshot that shows the two settings I speak about. Both are disabled by default after installation. Thanks for your help ! BYe, Alex

Hi prathapml, sorry for my redundant posts, I did read the first post in this thread but I was not sure if those files were for the final version. Thanks, Alex
-
Hi! Could you guys tell me if there is a hacked termsrv.dll available for the SP2 final (2180) ? Also ... would this work for a German Windows too ? Thanks for your help ! Bye, Alex
-
Hey Alanoll, thank you ! It works fine now ! Should you ever find a way to also activate certain features ( CD playback, internet connection always on come to mind .. ) please let us know. But it works great as it is now ! Thanks, Alex
