  1. µTorrent site has 2 types of downloads: - standalone (170 kB) - installation program (597 kB) I know that it needs only 170K and all customizable files are kept in %AppData%\uTorrent, but why should i do all that scripting instead of using only a single "/S" switch. These guys allready did this copy thing for us (nullsoft installer). Use it wise!
  2. isn't this a Nullsoft NSIS installer? silent switch is : /S (all switches must be upper case)
  3. now it seems that it works with the latest silent switch that i used in adoberdr7.0 install ... so: - download latest AdbeRdr708_en_US.exe from adobe website - use AdbeRdr708_en_US.exe /Q /W /S /V"/QN" switch i've tested it just 1 time and it worked...
  4. AdbeRdr70_enu_full.exe /Q /W /S /V"/QN" worked silently for unpacking and for installing. The new version, 7.05, is not using the same silent switch for unpacking. Of course, best way is to keep this incredible compresion from Netopsystem FEAD and not to unpack it. so: 19,9MB (Netopsystem) vs 33,7MB (unpacked) is something to think when you want to include a setup on your CD...
  5. okey...thanks again mate! cheers
  6. f**king sh!t, it worked! thanx a LOT sonic!!!! why?
  7. more history i have slipstreamed dotnet framework sp1 and sp1fix into one sfx-rar pack. using RunOnceEx i have included this package beside other silent installations and realized that it is not installing. it doesn't mater where i put dotnetfx.exe in RunOnceEx list, it will produce the same overlapping... ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Path=%TEMP%\netfx Setup=netfx.msi /qb Silent=1 Overwrite=1 tried: 1. used Setup=netfx.msi /qb 2. used Setup=msiexec /i netfx.msi /qb 3. used Setup=start /wait msiexec /i netfx.msi /qb 4. used Setup=start /wait "" msiexec /i netfx.msi /qb returned: 1&2. it unpacks the archive and the it jumps to the next item in the RunOnceEx list running both in parallel. if the next item is an msi pack it gives me error above (see previous posts) 3&4. error when launching: Windows cannot find 'start'. Make sure you typed the name correctly and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button, and then click Search. start /wait used with RunOnceEx gave me same msg... any solutions?
  8. what's the difference between msiexec /i file.msi /qb AND file.msi /qb?
  9. i don't think that start /wait msiexec /i pack.msi works from RunOnceEx?
  10. hi, I'm doing some unattended install with RunOnceEx and realized that few applications are not installing. I tried then to put an all my msi packages the /qb switch instead the silent one to see some error messages: Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install. Is there a way to put an msi on wait before the next one starts? [start /wait -> EXCLUDED!]
  11. @PryGuy thanks 4 your answer. this is what i expect from a forum...
  12. @oioldman i did that in my unattended winxp install cd, but I don't understand Ryan's custom acroread701.exe in the silent context ...
  13. silent = no GUI on screen does this install do this?
  14. @S0mE0nesMiNd1 is RyanVM's switchless installer silent? as far as i know is not...
  15. re-edit the self extract winrar "nero63115.exe" - path to extract - run after extraction - silent mode -> hide all - title - load SFX icon from the file, etc... you should see the comment like this exemple: ;The comment below contains SFX script commands Path=%TEMP% Setup=setup.exe /silent /sn=xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx-xxxx /write_sn /no_ui /nocancel /noreboot Silent=1 Overwrite=1 Title=Nero 6.3.1.15 then the SFX nero63115.exe is silent , and the setup.exe extracted is also silent
