  1. There are two hotfixes we used to solve issues with Windows install with the Intel GMA driver. http://hdsurvivor.blogspot.com/2007/06/sys...mini-setup.html It also fixes the problem during sysprep hanging while installing the GMA driver.
  2. I fixed the problem by disabling the firewall in winbom.ini and copying the winbom.ini file to the root of the build folder, before I ran oscdimg to create the ISO image. Here is my winbom.ini file: [Factory] WinBOMType=WinPE Reseal=No AutoDetectNetwork=Yes DoDeviceIDScanOnError=yes [WinPE] Restart=No [PnPDriverUpdate] [PnPDrivers] [NetCards] NICPnPID=D:\i386\inf\e1000325.inf NICPnPID=D:\i386\inf\Net8254x.inf NICPnPID=D:\i386\inf\B57XP32.INF [updateInis] [FactoryRunOnce] [branding] [AppPreInstall] [WinPE.Net] IPConfig=DHCP StartNet=Yes WinPEFirewall=Off
  3. We use WinPE to run Ghost32 to image our PCs. With WinPE 1.2 (based on WinXP with SP1) and Ghost32 version 8.0.x, we can multicast successfully. If I use WinPE 2004 (Based on WinXP SP2) and Ghost32 version 8.2.x, then multicast doesn't work, but unicast does (imaging takes quite a bit longer using uni instead of multi). Anyone else have this problem? Anyone have a resolution? I tried disabling the firewall in WinPE 2004, but that doesn't seem to make any difference.
  4. You can use Ghost to schedule cloning, I have doen this with the Enterprise version. Not sure it can be done with the stand-alone version. As for creating a hidden partition, Iuse Diskpart to do that, it comes with XP. Open up a console, and enter diskpart. You then enter the diskpart console, type help for a list of commands. You need to select the disk, "select disk 0", then creat a partition. One thing I have found with the diskpart command, it that you can remove hidden partitions off a dirve real easy, using the "clean" command. Certain PC builders, like Dell, create a hidden partition, 32 megs or so, and put their tools there dor running diagnostics. I use the clean command to get rid of them. diskpart can also be scripted, so I created a batch file, run diskpart to create a partition, and activate it, then use the format command to format it with NTFS, for buliding a clean system. This is a great use for the WinPE, if you;ve ever heard of that...
