  1. At first sight, it seems to do NOTHING! (Although I must say I've tested it in a computer which I manually removed MSN Explorer using add/remove programs, and then re-installed it - and tried to remove it again using your command - it did nothing... ) 10x anyway
  2. Is there a command to uninstall and remove MSN Explorer (something like: %windir%\System32\RunDll32.exe advpack.dll,LaunchINFSection %windir%\INF\msmsgs.inf,BLC.Remove for Windows Messenger)? I know I can remove it by modifying Windows XP setup files (or just winnt.sif), but I need this for a little batch file for already-installed-OS computers... 10x, Ran. PS: I also know I can remove it from add/remove programs but I need the command 'cause I want it to be automatic, as it will be a part of a batch file!
  3. Yes, it can be done! But I want it to be unattended. Well... not fully unattended, but automatic. I'm a PC thechnician, and when I come to a client who have an installed WinXP OS and he asks me to remove un-needed Windows components (Windows Messenger, MSN Explorer, etc.), I want to do it by using a batch file. In short, I need that command...!

  5. From the thread found HERE I understood that in order to install KB835732 Hotfix, I must have NetMeeting installed on my computer... Is there a way to bypass it, as I really don't want it on my computer???? Any solution (accept for installing NetMeeting) will be blessed! Important fact is that in order to install it, I had to do it twice (but I didn't install Netmeeting, thogh): install, reboot, install again... Just after the 2nd time Windows Update marked it as installed update... No need to mention that this isn't good enough, because I want it to be automated!!!
  6. Well, maybe it's true, I don't know... But I do know that Divx Solves the problem... I'm happy to say that I've figured out that /s switch does exactly what I needed (which means: install only the codec without the player or EGK)!!! Ohh, another thing... About the Start /wait command, I've found out that not only it's not neccessary, but also it doesn't work... At the time windows run RunOnceEx, it doesn't recognize the START command (and ECHO too...)!
  7. But I see that the start /wait command is very common in other batch files... Isn't it neccessary? And BTW, I'm using K-Lite Codec Pack and DivX Pro together... otherwise, some movies won't play... Therefore, I need to know DivX switches... Important to mention that I want only the codec itself (and not the DivX Player nor DivX EKG)!
  8. 1) Is it OK to use start /wait command in RunOnceEx.cmd, eg: REG ADD %KEY%\005 /VE /D "Ad-Aware v6.181 " /f REG ADD %KEY%\005 /V 1 /D "START /Wait \"%CDROM%\Software\Ad-Aware v6.1.8.1.exe\" /s" /f ??? I haven't tried it yet? Will this work well? 2) What are the switches for unattended installation of DivX Codec Pro v5.1.1 (Adware)? Can I define which Components to install? 10x, Ran.
  9. PLEASE relate to my question... You have totally ignored it!!! It's very important!!!
  10. There're lots of posts in the forum about Visual Effects and performance setting, and I'm a little confused... All I want is to set it to Custom with everything DISABLED except for the last two options ("Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and "Use visual styles on windows and buttons")... How do I do it????? 10x, everybody Ran, Israel.
  11. 10x for the awesome Unattended XP CD guide!!! Even for someone who his mother-language is deffenetly not English it's very clear and easy to understand (especially for someone who tries this for the very first time...) I have a little question though... There're lots of posts in the forum about Visual Effects and performance setting, and I'm a little confused... All I want is to set it to Custom with everything DISABLED except for the last two options ("Use drop shadows for icon labels on the desktop" and "Use visual styles on windows and buttons")... How do I do it????? ohhh... and another thing... Is there a command/registry tweak/script for changing HD drives labels? P.S.: One last thing, just want to know... What does "OPK" (i.e. DirectX 9.0b OPK) stand for? I'll appreciate a quick response, since I need this CD prepared as soon as possible! Thanks a lot, Ran Kedar, Israel.
