  11. I use the Intel Matrix Storage Manager with IaStor version 8.8.1009. This is a driver used on Intel Chipset CH9 (?). It's an old driver, but still the newest from Intel. Checked it yesterday. The machine is and brand new Acer Aspire 5738z with 4 Gb memory. Acer have no driver at all to this machine. I will take a look at the link you send me. Thank you for the answer. Best regards Christine
  12. Hiiii I have a slipstreamed Xp (Sp3) Cd with IaStor.sys installed supporting AHCI mode. I using the http://unattended.ms...g/unattended.xp way to get it implementet on the Xp Cd. This work fine if AHCI mode is enabled in Bios. If not - Xp been installed in standart Ide Mode. It works fine, but now i see some of my machine have a error in Event viewer saying: Error on IaStor.sys, drive not respondig, timeout and so on. The IaStor.sys are the latest version and matching the chipset in the machines. I realy need to get back to Ide mode, i can't reinstall this machine because of license problems in the installed software. Earlier i have observed some registry change in this forum i be able to use, but now i didn't find them anymore. This worked fine, i do the change, rebooted, get direcly in the Bios and set Ide mode, then restart again and all was OK. I find a lot of text how i do this in Vista, but that's not work for me. Can anybody help me ?? Best Regards Christine
  13. I'm not so good i English, please don't kill me for that :-) First, i downloadet Internet Explorer 8 to C:\ and renamed the file to Ie8.exe. Then i Copy my Xp Corporate Cd (Slipstreamed with Sp3) to C:\Test. Somewhere on internet i find that Microsoft use a Selfextractfileformat that have a intern filelist in the file and that the Hexbyte 60 00 before the filename tell that just that file should start when the extraction are ready. All other filest start with Hexbyte 20 00. Well, the startfile in Ie8.exe is Iesetup.exe", the file that is originaly used to upgrade an already installed Windows. I used a Hexeditor and edit the Ie.8.exe so the file "Iesetup.exe" have Hexbyte 20 00 before the filename an so edit the Hexbyte before the file"Update.exe" to 60 00, the file that is originaly used to Integrate the Ie8 into something. I save the file and write "Ie8.exe /Integrate:c:\test and get a Successed Dialog. And the files are realy copied into the Cd . . . But - When the Xp Install copying files to the Hd i get a Error message and then the machine Reboot before i can read the error message. The Reboot loop's forever. Then i install a new Windows to the same Hd in another \Win Directory and take a look in the Bad \Windows directory. I see a lot off ordinary windows files missing but don't find any logs saying what's wrong. Wondering, what files tell the install program which file should be copied to the Hd ? Can someone help debugging this problem ? 15. Well, i belive Microsoft stop the integrating just because they don't like Xp anymore. I think the solution are simple and as you see the option are supportet. Why ? And i don't like Nlite and so one !! I have already used CmdLines.txt and get in at T-12, but are not happy whit that. I like Xp and want it integratet on the Cd so the Install process going faster.

  18. First, i have: Acer Aspire 2920z Chipset: Intel® GM965 Express Chipset Memory Controller: 82GM965 I/O Controller: Intel® 82801HB/HR I/O Controller hub (ICH8M) Device Manager says: Intel® ICH8M-E/M SATA AHCI Controller VEN_8086&DEV_2829&SUBSYS_01351025 I have download from Intel the Matrix Storage Manager and added all the files on my unattended Xp Cd (sp3). and they install correct and Xp boot and so on. But i feel that the diskaccess are slow sometime, just like the Hd is sleeping, but i have turned that function off in my Control Panel\Power Config. I also have new problems with some software i never had before, sometime they works, sometime not. Change in my desktop layout, changing Directorys rights and so on, even after a clean install. (And this is not a virus, that's well tested) A Disktest always give me this message: Cleaning up minor inconsistencies on the drive. Cleaning up 32 unused index entries from index $SII of file 0x9. Cleaning up 32 unused index entries from index $SDH of file 0x9. This look like a world wide problem and Microsoft just say instal Sp3. Just as i have done ! So now i wondering about my Txtsetup.inf, it is Ok ? Specially this part: [sourceDisksFiles] iaStor.sys = 100,,,,,,3_,4,1,,,1,4 This i searched on Internet and find there, but now i'm not sure it's right. I also see a lot of other choise and combination here. What are they, what are they telling ? And - are this the right values for my hardware ? Please help.
