disabledtrucker, i've removed that key from registry and also other keys in that policies\explorer folder in registry, rebooted and still no programs also made a search in registry for this key "NoStartMenuMFUprogramsList"=dword:00000000 and didn't find any, also made a search at johnydo's file for a repeted key and did'nt find any. what a hell is causing this to happen? i've cheked the explorer section at johnydo's file and i see nothing related with this except the 2 lines i've comment befero installation. help me with this one guys. i ran out of ideas. BTW, ppl using johnydo's file, ain't this happening to you to?

ninnox, Tthe dns solution works perfectly. i don't know how to thank you for it. The second solution you describe it's not working for me, not even the shared folders are available, it gives a random ip that makes no sense and a diferent subnet mask also. Before sp2 it was how i do it, but now it simple doesn't work. But it's fine now, i've set it up manually (like it even better ) with the ips i've mentioned before. Tks alot to everyone for replys, and tks ninnox for solving my problem.

guys i really need your help with this. i've tryed to configure manually with ips 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.0.2 for the client machine, subnet mask 255.255.255.0 and predefined gateway on the client pc 192.168.0.1. when i do this sometime i have internet sometimes i do not. i don't know what else to do and i cannot format the other pc so please if someone of you understand alot of network connections please private me, maybe we can talk over msn messenger and solve the problem. i've slipstreamed sp2 into xp cd, formatted drive and installed windows, the msn messenger is 4.7 version. Isn't it suppost to be 6.2?

hi, need U guys help Sp2 is now available in portuguese (standart), and i wish to upgrade. i've windows xp sp1a on my hard drive, should i integrate xp2 with it or U think it better to integrate with CD of windows XP that has no service packs or any other updates?

P.S.: baza23 used a .cmd file, should i use it or svcpack for the directx is enough?

So, if i put the file directx_9c_redist.exe in the update subfolder of i386 folder of windows xp and add to the file svcpack.inf this line -> directx_9c_redist.exe /silent /noreboot , i'll get this working fine? tks in advance. PS.: whats the noreboot switch?
