I love betas - they let you preview the software

Yep - that was what I did - just pop in the R2 CD. I use Enterprise Server (even for my home server)

SP3 can not be integrated to media center edition.
For drivers use nLite, page "Drivers". Make sure that all of your drivers are extracted because nLite search for .inf file.
To merge two CD's just copy all files from CD1 and CD2 to same folder on hard drive.
Cheers
It CAN be integrated with SP3. I did it. Didnt trash IE or anything. I do have a MCE with only 1 CD - I got it from MSDN. You have to use cdimage, microsoft's software for creating files into ISOs. It optimizes the files.

Volume Licenses are a license for a computer that are meant for large corporations. I would like to know which editions these are availible for.
I know its availible for XP Pro, and Tablet ( and I got one from MSDN)
I would like to know if they are availible for Home Editon or MCE. Thanks!

Not trying to be mean or disrespectful to nuhi or anything, but I think that nLite sucks. It wont work on my Windows XP Tablet PC Edition VLK disc. I integrated SP3 onto it using nlite and now it wont accept my product key. I got this from MSFN. cross that out - I mean "MSDN" GRR. I wasted a CD for this . It also appends a bunch of stuff to the end of some files.

If you want it to be bootable, you can also take an ISO of the Windows XP Upgrade CD, and ADD the files to the ISO. Do no extract and readd, because that wont keep boot sector.

@iheartsims:
If the product CD is in CD-like condition (that is, not warped in shape) and data sections of the disc are not completely destroyed, it may be possible to read the disc using a better quality optical drive (perhaps retail (avoid OEM) LG drives). If tthe disc may be fully read, the contents should be backed up. An image file may be created to store the contents of and represent the media backed up. In this case, it would be best to use an image format that does not store the media characteristics. Standard ISO or CDRWin images (.bin/.cue) are recommended.
I have a retail drive. Its a Memorex I bought at tigerdirect. Its pretty good quality, or I wouldnt have bought it for 300$ (dont tell my wife!). It cant be read at all. It has a bunch of files missing from the i386 folder, and the boot sector. I sont think I can recover it. . It came with a COA sticker, but it wasnt attached to the PC. Thats because I bought the product and CD OEM, seperately, It didnt come with the PC.
That is if the product is a Microsoft product. If the product is not made by Microsoft (like a Linux variant), it is more likely that the may not be much help.Did you miss this?
I have a Windows Advanced Server, Limited Edition CD...That's Windows 2000 for ia64 (Itanium). It *is* a Microsoft product.
Nope. Its not Linux, because I wouldnt be asking this if it were linux...why? because I could download it. Yep, so its MS

Look for any batch scripts or uneeded programs that start up, they might have a script that does it. If its not that, then I would be on the phone with the company...grr!

This is why i dont use nLite..and other things too. Try changing the number in setupp.ini

Try using the OPK from MS - you need to register. This is only legal if you're a system builder, or build youur own computers. You can also get them when you buy 3-packs of OEM Windows Discs.

Windows 98 running extremely fast on a 3.2 ghz P4. Trust me.....wow.
But it's those darn older games that got their speed from the processor clock. The faster the processor the faster teh game....
CPUKiller is a good proggie for that.
But what most people don't understand about Windows 98, when XP has truly become mainstream, Windows 98 may still be vulnerable, but it won't be exploited nearly as much.
I couldnt get 98 to run on my computer - it has too much memory... just crashes at startup

Hmm... Do you think it could be that it was corrupted while downloading? (I have a MSDN Suscription)

Why do I use Windows 98 still?
Try running Windows XP on a 80486 and you'll see why

I think i might make a software that does just that

Id like to have no Windows Genuine Advantage - I dont support piracy, but its un-neccessary. Pirates can crack it, so in reality, only genuine users have to have the pain of it, and theres always some false alarms. You don't see Mac Genuine Advantage or Linux Genuine Advantage!

Well, on an R2 CD, do you know what a R2 Disc's setupp.ini should look like? (with a VLK of course)

Weird. I think it might just be the controller or somethings damaged. Is the cable to the hard drive while its on primary channel damaged? inspect it very carefully. I had this problem, because my cable was damaged.

I used to have Windows Server 2003 R2 o my computer, but i got a virus on it which erased everything so i had to re-install it. I install Windows Server R2 first, and then the second cd (R2 stuff) but I cant put in the product key. Why? I used the same key for the first part, and both CDs came in a package. What should I do? This is a Volume Licsense. Should I contact Microsoft?
Any help would be appreciated
