  1. The only trouble is slipstreaming the sata driver for motherboard's chipshet with nlite or at least disabling sata within bios. Drivers for xp : http://komku.blogspot.com/2009/01/aspire-m...ows-xp-and.html. According to http://www.mydigitallife.info/2008/08/22/h...t-extra-charge/ and http://www.mydigitallife.info/2007/06/22/c...om-vista-to-xp/ you have the right (with some exceptions) to downgrade from vista to xp.

  3. According to chipshet of motherboard, go to chipshet's site and download the latest.
  4. You can start from here :http://www.msfn.org/board/Integration-of-Intel-Sata-and-Raid-drive-t107504.html. Be sure you find all needed drivers for acer extensa 5610 here :http://support.acer-euro.com/drivers/notebook/ex_5610.html
  5. Windows XP do not include drivers for sata disks, so you have two options: 1) You make a floppy disk with the drivers for sata disks or 2) You integrate sata drivers in winXp CD with nlite or similar.
  6. On the previous post i made a small mistake with numbering which was edited. I'll be following up with your posts. Be well.
  7. I wrote: I've made a new fresh integration which I can check after 5 or 6 hours. I still keep in all the controllers cause I need it for my job. (In fact I made two win_CDs : one with needed controller and one with all of them. I will start testing with second one). here are the results: Finally installation with slipstreamed drivers was successful! (Clean win_CD + SP3 + intel sata drivers for all Intel's chipshets + Jmicron sata/pata drivers) plus (IE7 + WMP11) In case someone is interested i write down a way of enabling AHCI after installation of XP on Intel ICH9R: ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- 1) download intel AHCI drivers version 8.2.0.1001 2) copy iastor.sys to windows\system32\drivers\ 3) install modified iaAHCI.inf (*) 4) reboot 5) change in bios from IDE to AHCI 6) and vouala! 9. Thank you Fernando 1 for your answer. I did use 32bit drivers, but I found out that it had been a previous integration i didn't notice, with sata driver from intel's site. I've made a new fresh integration which I can check after 5 or 6 hours. I still keep in all the controllers cause I need it for my job. (In fact I made two win_CDs : one with needed controller and one with all of them. I will start testing with second one). I'll write up about results.
  10. Giea sas friends, I tried an Abit IX38 GuardGT with the following controllers: Intel® ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 2926 Intel® ICH9 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 2920 JMicron JMB363 Sata / Pata Controller. In step 2 and 3 I replaced “2923” to “2920” in all needed places also in registry file but bsod and restart... Any advise? PS: If things were gone ok I could add all other lines for 2926 but...
  11. After some good installations or re-installations first no lucks. I tried an Abit IX38 GuardGT with the following controllers: Intel® ICH9 2 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 2 - 2926 Intel® ICH9 4 port Serial ATA Storage Controller 1 - 2920 JMicron JMB363 Sata / Pata Controller. I integraded all the textmode drivers for ICH9R/M and JMicron but I got the message : iastor.sys is corrupted. Any advise? PS: I must add that I integraded all the controllers for the win_CD could be used for as many chipshets.
  12. All I can say to Fernando 1 is thanks very much, for your very usefull guide. I need to express my appreciation to Nuhi for his excellent tool.
  13. but my friend of course you can: 1) put image on a disk 2) put disk in a pc 3) DO NOT start pc 4) boot from winXP CD 5) first screen press ENTER NOT repair 6) second screen press R NOT esc 7) continue installing 8) all drivers, programs, everything sould be as they where. That's install-repair or reinstall Am I loosing your point, friend, in that it is possible to make image of XP on one machine and then install XP from the image onto another with completely different hardware ? This is to ask: - if for example one has a desktop with Pentium 4 + NVIDIA + Realtek + XP Pro on partition C, and a notebook with Core 2 Duo + ATI + Creative + Vista on partition C, can he then make image of XP and then use the image to install XP to the notebook system ? Will XP installed this way function ? Anyway, kwheeler7's way is better. Begin with check this out :http://www.acronis.com/enterprise/products/ATIES/universal-restore.html and google "reinstall windows xp"

    How to use nLite

If you mean it freezes during the installation then cd is damaged else if it freezes during first or other boot then wrong hard written. Both cases other probability is hardware failure.

    How to use nLite

Normally "(laptop manufacturer-name) (model number) drivers windows xp" in google will do. Or check this out :http://vip.asus.com/forum/view.aspx?id=20070724222010609&SLanguage=en-us&board_id=3&model=G2S&page=1 and this :http://www.google.gr/search?hl=el&q=asus+g2s+drivers+windows+xp&meta=
