  1. I hope I posted this in the correct area. I'll keep checking back and checking the other threads for a clue to my little problem. Have a great weekend.
  2. Though this one has been around a while I'd forgotten it. I think I like it so much due my level of being able to relate to the last character. I don't "get" many things about my pc and such but I enjoy a good joke. This is a good one imo so thanks. Here's another that's been around but I still enjoy. You know you're living in 21st century when... 1. You accidentally enter your password on the microwave. 2. You haven't played solitaire with real cards in years. 3. You have a list of 15 phone numbers to reach your family of 3. 4. You e-mail the person who works at the desk next to you. 5. Your reason for not staying in touch with friends and family is that they don't have e-mail addresses. 6. You go home after a long day at work you still answer the phone in a business manner. 7. You make a call from home and accidentally dial "9" to get an outside line. 8. You've sat at the same desk for four years and worked for three different companies. 10. You learn about your redundancy on the 11 o'clock news. 11. Your boss doesn't have the ability to do your job. 12. You pull up in your own driveway and use your cell phone to see if anyone is home. 13. Every commercial on television has a website at the bottom of the screen. 14. Leaving the house without your cell phone, which you didn't have the first 20 or 30 (or 60) years of your life, is now a cause for panic and you turn around to go and get it. 15. You get up in the morning and go online before getting your coffee. 16. You’ve had to stop using lol. 17. You're reading this and nodding and laughing 18. Even worse, you know exactly to whom you are going to forward this message. 19. You are too busy to notice there was no #9 on this list. 20. You actually scrolled back up to check that there wasn't a #9 on this list.
  3. I still haven't found an answer to my problem. Any advice is appreciated. If more info is needed I'd be glad to provide. I'll likely need directions on how to do so. Thanks again!
  4. Yes, thank you, Ponch! My "Attributes" have a check for "read only" and no check for "hidden." I went to Tools-Folder Options-View with "Do Not Show Hidden Files And Folders" and it is not checked. The "show hidden" is checked. I feel like we're getting close. I can almost remember doing...something. I really do appreciate all of the input. Thank you so very much, submix8c.
  5. I share my pc with other people. After I boot, click on my user icon (from other users icons), click start, click documents/pics/music/or network places there is an option (from the window that opens, lets say Pictures) to go to "Other Places" "My Computer" is one of the Other Places in this area. I believe this to be normal. When I click on My Computer from any area or from any user account I see the disc drives and hardware connected to my pc along with all the users...and mine was also there but not now. Perhaps there is an answer for this situation. Thank you again for your time and efforts.
  6. My fast user switching works fine for everyone. If I'm in my user account, or anyone else's, and then click on My Computer my user name is not on the list. This makes it difficult to do things from the other accounts. I must do all "their" stuff from my account because I can't easily access mine from theirs. If I'm on another's user acct. and am changing their myspace background for them but need a photo from my user account I can't easily access it from theirs. Yes, I can do all this from my own acct but I'd rather do their stuff from their's and have access to mine when I'm there. I can't figure out why, for about the past year, I no longer see my account listed in this area for everyone to see. I am an administrator and when on the other administrator acct mine isn't on the list when one clicks "my computer." I definitely have NTFS but I don't remember if that's always been the case. Thanks everyone!!!
  7. I have XPHome. I share my pc with other family members. I used to be able to go from my user account to another from my account. I can still do this easily. From another account I can't access my own! I may have done something with NTFS but it would have been a year ago or more and I don't remember. It's much easier if I'm on one user account to be able to access the other. My username no longer is seen in any list when I click "my computer" from another user account. I've made sure I'm listed as an administrator. Any ideas on what I may have done and how to reverse it or what might be the problem is appreciated.
  8. As time allows I'll ask for some help in the xphome forums. I don't think I'll be able to help others in this manner so I apologize in advance.
