  1. Hi, Did you looking for something like this : [Networking] InstallDefaultComponents=No [NetAdapters] Adapter1=params.Adapter1 [params.Adapter1] INFID=* [NetClients] MS_MSClient=params.MS_MSClient [NetServices] MS_SERVER=params.MS_SERVER [NetProtocols] MS_TCPIP=params.MS_TCPIP [params.MS_TCPIP] DNS=No UseDomainNameDevolution=No EnableLMHosts=Yes AdapterSections=params.MS_TCPIP.Adapter1 [params.MS_TCPIP.Adapter1] SpecificTo=Adapter1 DHCP=No IPAddress=192.168.1.120 SubnetMask=255.255.255.0 DefaultGateway=192.168.1.254 DNSServerSearchOrder=192.168.1.254 WINS=No NetBIOSOptions=0 For multible Networkcards you need to use the same settings with *.Adapter2 and so on. You have to add these Lines to your winnt.sif Hope it helps. Burger

  3. Hi, about your shell Problem. I think there is a line in your *.sif file like DefaultStartPanelOff = Yes "This tells Windows XP to use the Classic Start Menu, and displays the My Computer, My Documents icons as well as others on the Windows Desktop. If set to No, then the default Windows XP Start Menu is used." Text from : http://unattended.msfn.org/xp/reference.htm#shell by
  4. Hi, i think you have to add this to your Winnt.sif File : under [unattended] UnattendSwitch=Yes WaitForReboot=No This should solve your Problem- By
  5. Hi, This happens, because Windows restarts all of your GUIrunOnce Commands, after RESEAL. I think the only way to solve this Problem is, to use cmdlines.txt to install the Hotfixes and Software. The Most Registry Tweaks should work also thru cmdlines.txt But you couldn´t use the network shares to install Software during using the cmdlines.txt . Because there is no user loged in during this Point of installation, so you couldn´t get Access to any share. I have made a Bootable CD / DVD which installs almost all Hotfixes and recommended Updates thru cmdlines.txt. There is only one Hotfix that doesn´t work in my cmdlines.bat which is startet thru cmdlines.txt. I install only this Hotfix and the Acrobat Reader thru a start.bat which is startet thru Guirunonce. So i think, that this would be the only Batch that would be revoked after RESEAL. Bye
  6. Hi, hmm...don´t knew anymore...you are right all suggestion need 2 Pc´s accept the one with the DVD. bye
  7. Hi, Difficult Question, we Don´t know what you have licenced. For the Method which is mentioned by rustycaps you need two Pc´s, The Server and a CLient. The Operating System of the Server could be every Operating System which could make Networkshares. Windows 9x, 2000, xp. Or the Server Versions of M$. You could also use Linux and Samba. But what you need is a networkbootdisk which allows you to get Access to the networkshare on the Server. A Dos Bootdisk which supports the NIC in your Client. Hmm, which method is better lies in the eye of the beholder, so you will get varying opinions on which ones to use. My prefert way is Networkboot via PXE. But this requires a Windows 2000 Server, Windows 2003 Server or more then a little knowledge in Linux. The M$ Method functions good, and i knew only one cause to use the Linux method : The Money, if you don´t wan´t to spend the Money for Windows 2000 oder 2003 Server, you have to spend TIME with the Linux method. There is a "How To with linux" on Sourceforge Bye
  8. Hi, Could it be, that the Application which will be installed before isn´t finished, so that your "Problem" Application couldn´t write ikernel.exe. I would try to use sleep.exe to retard the installation of your "Problem" Application. Good Luck
  9. Hi, I have made a Bootable DVD, why don´t you try this ? There will be 4.3 GB for your Installationfiles. There is a Project on sourceforge which discripes a Network install without RIS or other M$ Products. The URL is http://unattended.sourceforge.net I think you will find would you are looking for there.
  10. Thanks, I think i could walk my way with this information.
  11. Hi, Are there non noticeable differences ? Some where behind the code ? Something like...better insertion of the Updates ? I haven´t read something about those things. Mostly ;-) Thanks
  12. Hi, i´m creating a Windows XP Boot CD. And so, i came to a point where i have to add the Hotfixes to the unattended Installation Files. I think there are 3 Ways : 1. Installing all Hotfixes with a script out of the "Guirunonce" Section, after the first login of a User. 2. Installing all Hotfixes with the cmdlines.txt File during the Installation. 3. Installing the most Hotfixes with adding them to the svcpack.inf File and install the rest of the Hotfixes over method 1 or 2. (oh does anyone understand what i mean, i hope so) No i have one Question : What Method is the "Best". I think Point 2 is the "Best" way, because you install all Updates with one File. You don´t have to maintain 2 or more Files. And you don´t have to login a user with administration right at first Login. And now, correct me if i´m wrong :-)
