  1. As I understand it, and I freely admit I can be wrong. The runonce registry key can not be repopulated from a function that is called from the runonce key. In the past I had tried to have some actions happen, import new settings into runonce key and reboot hoping those new settings would fire off on reboot. No joy. What I ended up doing was having the tasks I wanted to start on the second reboot initiate from the run key then have reg import to the runonce key that would clear the run key on next reboot. Hope that makes sense. Cheers
  2. nuhi, Add my name to the list of those interested in a 2000 version of your nLite. I haven't had a chance to play with it yet but based on the response I have no doubts it will be impressive. Thanks for all the effort you've put into this.
  3. You might want to give Altiris's line of product a look over. www.altiris.com
  4. I've used compname.exe in my RunOnceEx to retrieve the asset tag information from my Dell GX240, 260, 270's. It has been my experience that the serial number stored in the Dell is the same as the service tag number. Compname \c ?s should do the trick if I remember correctly.
  5. This sounds very much like the Ordinal 175 error I have experienced under the same circumstances. I use a 3rd party utility to push SP4 out to many computers. Pushing it out to 97 computers ended up with approximately 15 giving a error box with an "Ordinal 175" error. Rebooting the computer proved no adverse effects except for 2 machines. These 2 machines stayed in a reboot loop. I did some research at the time and while I can't remember the exact files the meat of it was that somehow during the update one of the files didn't reflect the upgrade to SP4 from SPx. The fix for the reboot loop was to boot to DOS and navigate to the directory with the SP4 uninstall files and uninstall it, reboot back into Windows should have you back to the SP level previously. Reapply the SP4. My apologies if this is vague. I haven't had to deal with the issue in many months and my notes on the subject are buried in my books at work. Regards.
