  1. You can add Battlefield 2 too the list of programs that do not work on x64 XP. I was only able to install it once, and that was a fluke.
  2. copy sp3 to a folder, say c:\sp3 rename the file to sp3.exe (just to make it easier later on) so C:\sp3\sp3.exe 1. copy windows cd to folder C:\XPSP3 (any name will do, but the folder must be created already and is best to do on a drive that is not the primary drive) 2. At the command prompt, type C:\SP3\sp3.exe /integrate:C:\XPSP3. The Windows Service Pack 3 Setup Wizard starts and notifies you that Windows XP SP3 files are being integrated into the Windows XP installation folder. 3. Click OK when you see the dialog box that indicates the integrated installation has completed successfully. 4. Copy the entire contents inside of c:\XPSP3 5. Open PowerIso (or other image software) 6. Paste the files into Poweriso's right panel 7. Select Action\boot\add boot information 8. Navigate to where boot.bin is located (can be found in nlite folder if you have nlite installed, or you can find one on the web) 9. The folder is now Bootable 10. Rename the Volume 11. Save the ISO and/or burn to CD Result is a clean integrated sp(x) untouched from other applications.
  3. midi2k6: I don't know what your issue with SP3 is. I have SP3 beta 3282 installed on my machine. It does not run slower (in fact, the desktop responds just a tad faster) my ram usage has stayed the same, the system benchmarks the same. SP3 is just a collection of updates and hotfixes since SP2 came out, plus two extra features, one of which is black hole router detection. If you are worried about hard drive life, stop using a pc altogether. Equipment gets old and fails. PERIOD. Learn to integrate hot fixes without nLite. After all, nLite is 3rd party software and is not without it's flaws.
  4. I am writing this posting on a SP3v3264 install with raid drivers so my Raptor's run in RAID 0. What I did was, make an nlite install disk that has my key and my SATA/RAID drivers slipstreamed. Then, I took the new image, copied the contents to my hard-drive(F:\XPSP3), extracted sp3v3264 to the folder, then integrated SP3v3264 using command line F:\XPSP3\i386\update\update /s:F:\XPSP3. Then created a bootable .iso from that folder. Rebooted my system, did a fresh install. No troubles at all with finding the RAID during install. Also, I did not have any other SATA drives installed besides the ones in RAID. I plugged them in after the OS was done installing. NVIDIA STRIPE 138.49G Partition Partition Type Drive Start Offset Partition Length #1 (Active) NTFS C: (Raptor-Raid) 0 MB 141808 MB OS Service Pack Service Pack 3, v.3264 OS Installation Date 12/24/2007
