  1. Hey, Thanks for the reply. I've got BDD up and running but I'm fighting with unattend.xml and the jacked up interface of windows image manager. The question I have is directly related to adding a NEW OS. I have added my capture, with the Custom image file option, but I want to know what to know what are Specify operating system setup files used for? Can I add an autounattend.xml here or predefine my unattend.xml, what? Thanks,
  2. I'm trying to get a LTI from BDD going. When creating a new OS within BDD Choose the type of operating system to add Custom image file Select the operating system image file Path to captured wim Move to distribution share Specify operating system setup files Copy Windows Vista setup files from the specified path What would this be? What type of file extention Specify the destination specify the name of the directory that should be created I have an unattend.xml, but I have that linked in the Builds under the settings Tab. Just trying perfect this deployment as best as I can, but so far its pretty bad. Thanks,
  3. Am I on the right track? Our end goal is the same Vista Enterprise and Office 2007 using BDD I have BDD installed and connected, howerver I'm having trouble with my Unattend.xml that I'm sure over time I will get worked out. I wanted to run down my process for getting an image and makeing sure I was on the right track. 1. load Vista Enterprise out of the box on a clean system. - make all my settings - remove things I don't want - clean up the start menu, etc. 2. run sysprep /oobe /generalize /shutdown 3. boot to WinPE cd - go to command promp and copy image using imagex to BDD share 4. in BDD workbench - Add it to operating systems - Add it to builds - Add it to Deployment Points 5. modify my unattend.xml for the correct wim that I captured 6. create a new WinPE boot ISO 7. Boot another PC to new WinPE boot disc 8. If it works repeat step 7 299 more times - if not post this thread to another forum Thanks for any help, Mike
  4. Tue, Here is the Doc that I used that worked for me. TechNet - Windows Vista Technical Library - Windows Vista: Deployment - Windows Vista Deployment Step by Step Guide When you boot with the PE disk choose exit to Command Prompt and then use command line to create the wim file, then copy that to your bdd share. In the guide this is step 4 Creating An Image To capture the installation and store it on a network share Hope that helps
