fixed this fuzzy font trouble. got new monitor. don't know what went wrong with that dell monitor but something did. it was making me think i needed new eye glasses. and it was getting worse every day. but the new monitor did not go to the size of screen res.. i wanted so i switched it out with the old one from the win98. which goes to one size smaller then the other one and to the same size on the large scale as the other one then i put the other replacement on the win98 but all are good working ones now. thought i would come back and post this as fixed.

the modem dials up the server. the server checks name and password. the server sends back error 691, does not know name and password. i have made new dial up connetions. and have installed msn dial up software. the msn dialup software did connect to the msn server to check its registration and said it knew the computers owner and all was already registred. but still using that dial up software and or the other dial up connections we made or using any of the phone numbers in the area. none of the servers will allow it to connect to the web. the modem is working. as it allowed msn's software to work. and the modem worked just three hours prior to not working. so do any of you know what is wrong either the computer or the server or a missing file on the computer? and just how would i fix it. is this a winsox error? thanks.

OH sorry i had NO Idea There was already a thread by the same name i picked. for my post. otherwise i would have added them to it. but thanks for the merge of them. yep what i can see in you image of alerts are a funny also. just like the rest of this thread. makes one wonder why don't they put the needed infor in the alerts at microsoft so we know what they are.? its not hard to find any to replace theirs with. looking at just this thread it looks like theres tons of them on line.

i thought everyone would know that these are just images of errors that popped up and some one took screenshots of them, and changed the text on them. and then that person sent them through the email to other people. when i got them in the email. i opened them in picture it and re wrote the text on them again. to what i thought was funny. i did not change the alert title's only the text in the warning and on the buttons.

i changed the wording on these to what i thought would be funnier. enjoy.

okay i'll see if i can figure out how to get it make a report here on this dell. as for the sony vaio i found a copy of windvd5 i did not know was there it was stuck in a cubby hole with out a link to it. so i started it up and put a dvd in. the dvd started and played. so it seems the sony vaio requires i use the windvd5 to play dvd's. i found the avs dvd free player and i am going to test it on this dell to see if it will work like normal. no the avs program did not change anything on this dell. However i have noticed this time that there is no option called "Play DVD's" on the autorun list for the dvd drive. i have been telling it to run movie files. what happened to the play dvd option? i can't see any way of making a report from this " autoplay repair " program?

no but i did switch cables from this tower to the other towers flat screen and it seemed to show good on it, not sure though if the flatscreen was doing the correcting or not? i'll have to try and get enough cord to connect this montior to the other tower and see if it is better on that tower. but i don't think it will be. could be wrong and maybe this monitor only needs a shot from the nvidia 7900 card in that other tower? maybe that will fix it?

yep its a crt sorry i forgot to say that. yep it is the pixels that seem to be fuzzy on every pixel its the whole screen looks kind of like looking through a slight mist or fog. i have it at 800 x 600 wont go anylower. i was thinking its a new monitor but did not want to buy one yet.

not sure what is going on but all my winXp pro computers wont autoplay any dvd's, i set the handlers in the drives properties but still no dvd player i use will autoplay? i found an autoplay repair program or tool so i tried that and still no luck. every time i put the dvd in the drive of any of my computers i have to use the icon to start the player then use the play button to play the dvd file and then use the option to set it to full screen, not one of the computers will use any dvd program just by putting the dvd in the drive. does any one know what is causing this?

on my dell monitor all the fonts and images on the screen are fuzzy. anything that causes this? i have done reseting of the monitor and adusted the v mori and h mori in the monitors settings to zeron. i have turned on clear type fonts. and i have run maintance on the computer. which means i cleaned out all the junk files and such. i ran the last autopatcher i could get before they were shut down by M$. i have all updates i can get from ms web site. i've moved small personel cooling 3 inch desktop fan away from the back of the monitor and turned it off. nothing seems to work everything looks good on first reboot but goes sour as its up time gets longer. gforce 4 mmx 420 vid card. unknown manufacture of monitor it just say's dell. thanks

ya might have seen me in other forums. if so now ya know why the name roving. i keep on the move looking for good help forums if i find one i stay put until the forum has troubles. like the LG forum has now. i'll stay here for a spell and see what kind of help i can get here.
