  2. Grab prime95 and do a torture test. This should rule out CPU/RAM as the cause.

I've had similar problems on other machines, and it ended up being NVIDIA drivers. Unfortunately there is no fix for this most of the time, because they do not test their drivers extensively on older hardware, and rarely listen to any reports about issues... that's how it goes.

You could also have some settings improper in your BIOS, make sure everything is set to the Specifications of your particular HW (CPU, RAM) and don't rely on "Auto" settings because these are often incorrect.

  3. That card only has 128 bit memory interface, which makes the 1GB of ram pretty much useless...

If you want to play Crysis spring for an 8800GT , the cost/performance ratio of the 8800GTS (G92) is just not worth it.

Actually, you should just play it on the rig that's in your SIG, that old Athlon ain't gonna handle it :D

  4. Judging by your posts on another forum, I would say you have a seriously compromised system.

You should take all suspicious files and upload them to http://www.virustotal.com and allow sending them to different av companies for inspection.

IMO, that install is wasted completely, and you should start over from a secure source (original win2k disc).

I would most likely securely wipe that drive clean as well.
