  1. Hello I'd like to install the Sun Java VM in RunOnceEx. The command though to install it has extra " %systemdrive%\install\Java\j2re-1_4_2_04-windows-i586-p.exe /s /v"/qn ADDLOCAL=jrecore IEXPLORER=1" I could call it from an external batch, but is there a way to make it work in RunOnceEx? Thanks
  2. I'm having the same trouble too. I am running the following in cmdlines.txt [COMMANDS] "REGEDIT /S HKCU.reg" "REGEDIT /S region.reg" Here is the Visual Effects portion of HKCU.reg [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects] "VisualFXSetting"=dword:00000003 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\AnimateMinMax] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ComboBoxAnimation] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\CursorShadow] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\DragFullWindows] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\DropShadow] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\FontSmoothing] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000001 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000001 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListBoxSmoothScrolling] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListviewAlphaSelect] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListviewShadow] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\ListviewWatermark] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\MenuAnimation] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\SelectionFade] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\TaskbarAnimations] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\TooltipAnimation] "DefaultValue"=dword:00000000 "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\VisualEffects\WebView] "DefaultApplied"=dword:00000000 I want to turn them all off, except font smoothing. The settings just don't seem to have any effect what so ever. I've been trying to get this to work for ages, many virual machines have been killed in the process.... Update: Small start menu icons doesn't apply for me either. Using this code in HKCU.reg "Start_LargeMFUIcons"=dword:00000000 "Start_MinMFU"=dword:0000000c Also I want to turn Hide inactive icons off, can't find the reg key for it though.
  3. I think it's changing Memory usage to System Cache from Progams. Large system cache or something. If you enable it will cause delayed write failures, basically windows is unusable.
  4. Hello I'm having trouble with SBS 2003 Standard. I want to enable ICS to share the internet throughout all machines in the network. I figure I need to disable the DHCP server or things won't work. The Advanced tab is missing from the network connections properties. Even with DHCP uninstalled/disabled the tab isn't there so I can't enable ICS. The machine has two NICs one on the router/modem and the other is the LAN. I've searched microsoft.com like crazy and searched the internet madly. I can't find out why the tab is missing. Is it not available in SBS 2003 Standard? I can't see that being the case as Microsoft is touting this as a complete solution... I've gone through admin tools/comp management and server management nothing there, I even searched the help built in to 2k3. Any clues?
