  1. If you are saying what I think you are, you can't just point it to c:\windows.. you have to have a local copy of your Vista installation media for it to build off of. Edit: and here's the process. Put your DVD in, and hold shift or otherwise stop the autorun. Start vlite, and when is asks for the installation source, point it to the DVD drive. It'll then prompt you and ask you where you want to store the files on your hard drive (2-4GB worth of them). It'll take a while to copy over. Edit2: While that should be the correct process, it breaks when I try it. I get an error about not being able to copy all files. I think it's because I'm in Vista trying to do it, and Vista knows too much and doesn't want me copying files off the DVD to make an autounattended installation
  2. ok tell me where 1.4 is? (see attached screenshot) edit: and yes, I have hit refresh, cleared my cache, etc.. I'll check from the browser on my phone just in case something is cached that isn't under my control. edit2: wth.. ok I checked on my phone, and the download is there. I checked on one of the other computers at my desk, and I still just see 1.3.5. I've just about had it with our parent company proxying our internet traffic.. downloading it on my phone now, then I'll sync it to my work pc via bluetooth. thank heavens for HSDPA data connections
  3. So I guess I am the only one who sees no place to download this. I'll just continue to disable file protection I guess
  4. It's probably asking for the location on your computer where you have your Windows CD stored.
  5. I don't see the download link on the site? The changelog is there though
  6. It's the easiest program I've ever made an SMS deployment package for. Copy the install disk to a network share, create a shortcut to setup.exe, edit the setup properties to add /admin to the end of the shortcut command path, and run that. It brings up a very nice wizard for customizing your office install. When you finish, just save the resulting file in the "updates" folder and it'll automatically get applied when setup.exe is run (whether it be through SMS or directly from the network share). The same works for Visio 2007 and Project 2007.
  7. Very good to hear. Until then, is there something I can do to get around it? I set up a computer using my slipstreamed disc and got the Windows File Protection popup. I inserted the slipstreamed cd, and it seemed to be ok with that. It hasn't come up again, but all I've done since then is install software. I'll have to play around a bit more, and if it comes up again I'll just disable WFP. The employee the computer is being deployed to starts in a couple days so I don't really have time to redo the OS and software install process. thanks for all your hard work!
  8. So, disable WFP in nLite... +1 yeah it's been another full year, and I just thought I'd give nlite another try.. still running into that. I'd rather not disable windows file protection, but will if that's the only solution.
