  1. Your ability to apologise extensively like this is admirable. Good work. It's 6am here though, and I'm going to be cranky in the morning (technically it IS already morning), but I'm not intending on taking it out on anyone (except inanimate objects). Maybe that's an attitude to strive towards?
  2. Actually, that was just a screenshot, as I never really finished it, and thus didn't feel a need to release it. However, I've been using it like this for ages and it doesn't really look unfinished, so here it is: http://rapidshare.com/files/64736368/Vista_Standard.zip.html It's an RP7 skin though, I haven't upgraded to RP8 preview yet. Enjoy!
  3. Flapper, I would bite the bullet and install Win98SE on your laptop. You can then load it with Auto-Patcher and 98SE2ME, and most of your problems will be solved. If you then for any reason feel you want to modify your system further, I can also recommend KernelEx and Revolutions Pack (but that will upgrade your system "beyond" 98SE's main functionality).
  4. Red = 8 bit Green = 8 bit Blue = 8 bit Total = 24 bit 2^24 = 16777216 = 16.7 million possible colours Red = 8 bit Green = 8 bit Blue = 8 bit Alpha = 8 bit Total = 32 bit Alpha means transparency channel (2^24 = 16777216 = 16.7 million possible colours) + (2^8 = 256 possible shades of translucency where 0 is transparent and 255 is opaque) So basically, with 32 bits you can have millions of colours in gradual variations of transparency. This opposed to indexed transparency where a colour can be either opaque or transparent, but nothing in between, causing jagged edges.
