  1. Hey guys, Will the RC1 key work with RC2? Thanks, lockedon
  2. Your hard drives are in good shape. Unless you want to buy 2 500GB Hard Drives. PCI-E card is the way to go. EVGA 7800 GT is a great card. So basically you need to change your motherboard, cpu, video card. This should not cost much. AMD is great. I can't vouch for Intel since I have used Intel in awhile. You could wait because Intel is comming out with some new cpu's. I will see what I can find. Unless someone tells you something else. Take it easy, RC I will have to agree with suryad. The FX-60 blow away nearly all of intel's current cpu's
  3. IMO, The system you currently have is great. May I ask, How long have you had your current config? What is your price range? Thanks, RC
  4. I have the AMD X2 3800+ and I am a avid user of photoshop and illustrator. It runs very well The 7800 GT is a great card and can play most games at their highest settings. I am not sure of the performance advantage from the Operton and the X2. Make sure you buy some decent memory Hope that helps
  5. Thanks Thai3q Eclipse Thats the type of case I was looking for. Thanks ripken
  6. Hello all, I am planning on building a new computer system (Price Range $1000-$1300). I plan on obtaining all parts from Newegg. If any of you know of another online store with better prices, please tell. If there is anything else that I am missing please tell me. Here is a listing of parts that I have in my shopping cart with Newegg. AMD Athlon 64 X2 3800+ 1GHz FSB Socket 939 Dual Core Processor ABIT AN8 SLI Socket 939 NVIDIA nForce4 SLI ATX AMD Motherboard - Retail CORSAIR XMS 1GB (2 x 512MB) Antec TRUEPOWERII TPII-430 430W Power Supply ASUS 7800 GTX Video Card NEC Black IDE DVD Burner Model ND-3540A This type of computer is for primarily used for playing the latest games and encoding videos from my DV Camorder. (I travel alot) I need help choosing a proper case. I'll use my existing hard drives for this computer (200GB and 300GB Western Digital ATA133) Is this a good idea? Thanks Lockedon
  7. I have a HP PSC 2510. I think HP sells a different model with Wireless-G I am really happy with this printer. I have it connected by ethernet only. (Wireless is too slow)
  8. The Ipod Nano is desgined to replace the Ipod mini. Thats why the ipod mini is no longer available on apple.
  9. I am thinking of making the move to VOIP and I can get a great deal on the following Linksys router after rebates. Click on link for info. Linksys WRTP54G Does anybody here use the Vonage service? I just wanted to know the experiences some users had with the service or this router?
  10. Heh You can't ask for that info here. You are breaking the forum rules.
  11. I checked on ebay and the majority of the auctions for Half-Life 2 are to sell you a CD-KEY so you can download Half-Life 2 from Value's Steam Service. This all you would really need to have. I'm sure the sellers are trustworthy. If you decide to do this you have to download the steam service from www.steampowered.com Create a account and use the CD-KEY to register Half-Life 2. Once registered you can download the game and play it.
  12. Hmm to buy Half-Life 2 from ebay I am not sure. When you buy the retail version from the stores it comes in 4-5 cds (I Think). After you install Half-Life 2 on your computer you have to create a account with Valve's Steam Service. This service allows you to fully activate the game so you can play it.

    HELP!

Relax abit, Welcome to the MSFN Forums Try this Since you can bring up the task manager Click on File Select New Task Type in explorer.exe See if that works. If not start Windows XP in Safe Mode.
  14. Pick up the remake of resident evil 1 and resident evil 0. You can find these for about $20 each. Legend of Zelda: The Windwaker is a fun game. Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes is also a good game. IMO these are all fun games.
  15. You don't have to put it on a dvd. It will fit on a cd if you use nlite. Just don't remove framework or media center will not install correctly.
  16. If you have another hard drive lying around install Windows XP into the new drive. After the install plug in the drive with the bad Windows XP and you should be able to see your files on the other drive. Hope that helps
  17. So am I still going to receive a copy of HL2 when it is released? I purchased the ATI Radeon 9800 Pro many months ago and I later received a card with a activation code for HL2.
  18. FthrJACK. I am preloading HL2 from steam. Does that mean I will get to play it after it preloads?
  19. I was able to integrate the SP2 Build 2096 into my Windows XP CD. I tried to do a clean install and I got a ntfs.sys error and the setup failed. I have created the cd several times but no luck. Any Ideas?
