  1. I am not sure if any software does this but you can do JOBD in WinXP, Win2k & Win2k3. This is known as a spanned volume. Not sure about Vista as I have not played with it much. You should realize however that the drawback utilizing this method is there is no redundancy, you lose 1 drive you lose the whole volume. Here is the link showing you how: http://www.microsoft.com/resources/documen...e.mspx?mfr=true
  2. Ah, I did not think you might be a Linux/Unix/AIX admin. Sorry bro.
  3. Hi Atari, I'm just curious. How did you get this job/position with 3+ TB of space and 100 users, and you are asking these seemingly simple hardware setup questions?
  4. DHCP will lease a IP for all requests for IP unless there are no IPs left to lease. I would go with static IPs or assign them via reservation only.
  5. Have you seen this http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vis...net-explorer-7/
  6. Maybe this.... right clik start menu button \ properties \ customize \mark the "enable dragging and dropping"
  7. I had the same problem with a W2k3 ent server and adding the asp.net account didn't work. Windows 2003 uses the Network Service account instead of the ASP.NET account. I just added the Network Service account to x:\wwwroot and it worked.
  8. I used to work for a company where my boss would ask ridiculous requests, very much like what your boss is asking. It's called micro-management. Find another job, you will worry less and therefore get gray hairs at a much slower rate. : )
  9. We have several applications which only run when a user is logged onto the box. We have a custom GPO which extends a RDP connection indefinitely. I would advise this method, then you will not have to worry about the user ever getting logged off. If the user needs to be a local admin, create a application_group in AD, add your user/ID to this group, then add the group to the local administrators group on the server. The only problem you will run into would be having the box restarted or crashing.
