  1. Hello. I am just trying to legaly backup some of the computers we have in company so the recovery would be possibly within a few monutes, and there would be no "complete" installation needed. I've read that Vista have Complete PC backup, but it is only available in Business or better edition. So basicly...I would need "something" to backup entire system, put it on some media (DVD) and being possible to recover it later. And to do this legaly ofc
  2. That is true yes... how about an option that I add recovery "center" from ultimate and add it to my vista installation DVD. vLite should be possible to do so, or? Another idea would be to manually run imagex.exe and create image?
  3. I have a legal OEM vista here and would like to make the backup of entire system like it is possoble to do on vista ultimate. Is there perhaps some "hack" to unluck the "backup entire system" option in Vista HOME or perhaps I can import this component to my install media using vLite and my licence will still stay?
  4. Hello. Is it possible to make a bootable DVD (bootable CD, because of its size) that will contain only the boot and the recovery menu for VISTA? and perhaps add some custom programs for work with partitions? If yes...which tools to use to make such a bottable media, perhaps vLite?
  5. Hello. I am already asking this from some other part of this forum, but I guess I could be more sucesfull here, since that other part is for win XP/2000. What I wanna do is activate English Vista on my Toshiba laptop on which there was originaly insalled German OS...and we dont like it in German, do we There seems to be missing certificate .xrm-ms for Toshiba, so I cannot activate it in that was...because the recoveray partition is basicly a fully pre-activated Vista, hich only extracts itself when making a recovery. Would it be possible then to activate my "fresh" English Vista with a help of some files from German Vista, maybe tokens.dat and pkeyconfig?
  6. I think you are right. Yes, I do have oem version, it is from my laptop and then i go and "recover" it the image extracts already installed windows, so I guess I cannot do much with it
  7. I would like to know the same answer as you... I have a toshiba notebook here and would like to optimize my version of vista. But when I try to "open" the installation with vLite I get the error that "there is no operation system in this directory...." What am I missing here?
  8. Hello guys. I've bough a laptop which had a German Windows Vista preinstalled. It is Toshiba Sattelite. I've restored it and the only language option was German. But while checking the recovery partition I noticed that there are all files available in English too and that German was basicly like some "add on". The weird thing was Everest language report for installed OS, which said that there is an English (USA) version installed? huh... So I started to think...perhaps Toshiba somehow "locked" the language selection and "forced" German language as the only one selectable. Do you perhaps kno how can I change this and if it will work so I could install English Vista. I really dont care if the Toshibas drivers and utilities are in German, I only want Vista to be in English... I tried the util called vLite but it does now recognise the recovery partition as the Windows install folder... so I dont know what else to do.. please help.
