    May I ask you how you solve this issue : I think I am in the same case and can't find any solution I have been trying various configuration of my new SATA disk as a booting HDD with windows 98SE but just got each time (after correction of the NOIDE value in the registry) new BSOD message : "Your multifunction device (Standard Dual PCI IDE controler) has some child devices using 32bit drivers and some using compatiblity mode drivers. this configuration is not supported" ! Thanks
