  1. yes...they are volume keys. Thanks for the replies!
  2. hello everyone: I am awaiting additional licenses for Win2k3 srvr, but I have a bit of a quandry. I have servers that need to be built and racked NOW for testing by us, while it may be another 2 or 3 days until I get the additional keys. Is it possible that I can build out the servers using a legitimate key that we have used in the past (I believe we will overextend by one though with the next build, as I purchased x amount of keys, and this would be x+1) and AFTER the server is built and configured, change up the product key in the registry? I am just trying to avoid rebuilding the server again.

    vpn routes

I have an issue when attempting to connect via VPN to 2 different branch offices. I have made sure that the destination RRAS servers assign addresses in different ranges, so as not to have any conflict. As an example, consider that I am connecting to one VPN server in Denver that is assigning an IP address from the 10.2.1.x range. I am also, at the same time, connected to a VPN server in Tucson that is assigning an IP address from the 10.3.1.x range. I can connect to both servers without a problem, but I can only connect to one branch's systems. The reason for this is two /8 routes that my VPN client assigns in my routing table: 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 <ip address assigned by Denver VPN server> 10.0.0.0 255.0.0.0 <ip address assigned by Tucson VPN server> I do not want these routes to be assigned by my client. I want the /24 routes to replace these- e.g.- 10.2.1.0 255.255.255.0 <ip address assigned by Denver VPN server> 10.3.1.0 255.255.255.0 <ip address assigned by Tucson VPN server> How do I make this happen? Is it a registry setting I need to change?
  4. I am employed by a company who has recently become a certified partner with MS. One of our incentives for this was to be able to purchase software for future production systems at a discounted price. After reading the partner guide and other sources, I never really found anything specific about what percentage discounts a certified partner is extended when purchasing volume licensing. Recently, I found out from a representative that it was 20%. I asked if the same discount was applied if we reached the Gold Certified Partner level (hoping the answer was "no" and that it would be a bigger discount), and she said yes. I know there are other programs we can pursue like the MSA and SBS (Microsoft Software Advisor/Small Business Specialist- where our company helps smaller companies acquire licensing), MS authorized distributor, and the reseller program. It looks like no matter what we do, we will only be extended a maximum of 20% discounted pricing on licensing for production use. Can anyone confirm this is true? I would think the more aligned we become with MS (i.e., distribution/reselling of software, etc.), we would be rewarded with a greater discount. I know that education and government entities are extended a significant discount, but I guess private enterprise is not afforded the same benefit.
