  1. well goodnews nuhi! the latencies are down in this version. its down to 150 us with spikes of 1000us coming at gaps of 5-10 sec. earlier it was 1000 all the way! so great going there. although in the event viewer the number of warnings have increased quite a bit. event viewer --> applications & services logs --> Key Mgmt Services --> Microsot--> windows--> Diagnostics performance--> Operational
  2. hehe well i mean whenever there is time, it wud be really cool
  3. okay ill try this out and get back in a day
  4. yes sir fixed.
  5. ok problem has been sorted out with new driver and getting rid of speedyvista.com registry settings.
  6. hey nuhi first thing the ISO prediction thing is easy , infact there is no prediction in it. one needs to remove every component individually and measure how much it reduces the iso. and this information needs to be compiled in a table which should be added to vlite. for example, i have removed all the languages only and the iso has come down from 2.49 gb to 1.67 gb this information should be fed in vlite. everytime a person selects languages to be removed vlite should show his ISO will be 1.67 GB before rebuilding the image. data on every component can be gathered this way. its a tedious and tiring job but this will save a lot of time for users. Second thing the Split ISO window is not showing the ISO count or ISO size.. Please look into it. Thanks.

    Wifi trouble

Well everytime i restart the laptop i have to feed the network passphrase and network ID for the home wifi. Vista keeps forgetting it. What could be the problem?? here is my preset http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=at...st&id=17607
  8. this is the preset http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=at...st&id=17607 i suspect WIA/Scanner and printer drivers. can someone confirm?
  9. here is the preset http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?act=at...st&id=17607 yes ive removed both tablet and windows mail! how else can one squeeze this in one cd Also Windows live mail desktop beta build 1226 is failing to install without any error. just says failed to install.... Same reason, cuz of removing windows mail?
  10. On the window which comes the first time outlook is started for configuring accounts. The program crashes as soon as account info is fed and it tries to connect to server for verifying password. What could be the problem? It's working ok on non vlited vista
  11. I'm trying to install this software for HP Photosmart 2608 AIO PSC http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/softwar...131〈=en i've tried but not able to install this. Can someone tell me which components need to be kept to successfully install this software?
  12. zeko that feature is rather useful. just exploring possibilities here. n m8 if its gettin on yur nerves go n get a drink hehe
  13. nuhi if Clint is right then why dont you put that option in Vlite? it will save countless hours and Cds not to mention! the Hd counter is rather wasted.
  14. yeps its working now. thanks for your time and prompt action.
  15. okay here are the files. Desktop.rar
  16. Umm what is the purpose of this thread then? initial reporting of new version or praise nuhi hail nuhi and praise vlite hail vlite? relax buddy im not reporting anymore bugs and what about the challenge of whoever reports most bugs gets a choice feature in the next version ?
  17. This is the first time vlite has made my Vista install fail midway ever right from the earliest Vlite version I used the answer file nuhi here is my experience Started the install from within Windows XP --> 1st window was "Select the OS you want to install". Odd.--> Second window was "Select the drive/parition"--> After 15 minutes of the setup completing install the error came "Windows could not parse or process the answer file. The error was deteced while processing settings for component [Microsoft-windows-shell-setup]"--> after this the comp restarted unexpectedly and the installation failed i was booted back in windows XP version 1.0 beta quality wise is not at par with previous beta releases. I'll just wait for the final Won't be testing more for the current version. BTW if possible can we skip the 1st window mentioned above and have the option to specify the Drive/Partition in answer file? That would be great!
  18. thanks nuhi for the reply ive already acknowledged WHS is not vista family in the above post. Ok thats terrible if it cant be predicted. no problem will drop that from wish list. great keep up the good work
  19. great i like the unattend thing! and installation has been fine so ill sum it up. Negatives. 1. Space saving counter as per ISO not added. 2. Function of Finish/Exit buttons not corrected. 3. Windows Home Server support missing 4. Split window information about ISO size needs to be brought back. 5. Protect your PC would look better as Windows Updates. Positive 1. Unattend is a big plus! 2. Animations and look of the program is improved 3. Option to backup preset on the ISO. Well overall much can be done. For me personally its not addressed any issue i had in previous versions. Hopefully Nuhi will take care of all these minor issues in the Final Go Nuhi!!
  20. earlier the split window would usually show the ISO size and how many Cds it would require now one has to press start before that info comes up and there the Protect your PC thing, it would be better named to Windows updates or something. At first glance it's not clear what that means until one uses the pop down menu to see the options the finish and exit button are still doing the same function at the end of ISO creation. Finish should take you back to front page of the program and Exit should exit it. i like the new color scheme and animation!! with more options added looks better. good job there. testing more..
  21. the counter is still showing how much space will be saved as per the final install and there is no option to see how much space is saved per component on the CD. i think this option should be on by default, i.e. size per component ISO wise not HD wise. testing more
  22. this baby doesnt support windows home server yet. it probably supports Longhorn server. I understand they are two different products "Can not find the expected files. Make sure you select the folder or the drive which contains the vista installation files." will test the rest of it and get back!
  23. @nuhi looking forward to the new version! hopefully before the end of the month! as ive got university papers in may @ben about this polling issue. latencies are in us per ms units not just ms! and every OS does it in 30ms or so. you probably want a longer time gap say 1 sec? is that possible? its like telling your heart to beat 30 times a minute rather than usual 72. meaning you probably want the us to come down. that is the number of processes pending at the processer at every cycle. thats around 1000 us in vista and 80 us in XP. bringing down us(work pending with processor related to the OS) to near XP levels would be the goal, i would guess. correct me if im wrong!
  24. it would still have the same dangers. e.g. screwing up dependent stuff wondering when is the next version being planned for release nuhi?
  25. yeah its still love and hate with vista! xp was love all the way! lolz
