Hi, Thanks for your help, I downloaded the program installed and the issue was the onboard sound. Once I disabled that the creative drivers and software kicked in. right cheers, thanks alot J

it was a clean install, I now have a full copy of Vista Home Premium and still have the same problem. the drive won't read CD's

No the drivers didn't work :-( I am hoping Creative as well as all other manufactures get there acts together and start to get the drivers and softwear out for Vista. I really do not want to have to buy a new soundcard.

I reformatted and got rid of Vista, and reinstalled XP Professional I'll wait for the full release of Vista

Hi Team, Ok Back on XP. It would appear my dvd drive is rooted. Could installing Vista have done it? I did't have a problem with it till the install

Hi Team, I have loaded Vista build RC1 5600. Everything seems to be ok but for 2 things. My DVD drive will only read dvds and afew software cds. Office 2003 is the only one it reads. Is this a known issue? Any input would be a great help. *much respect*

Hi Team, I worked it out. No need to reply. 1. load new version quickcam 5000 software onto PC 2. put quickcam software disc into drive. 3. reboot. 4. when PC boots up again, new USB Device is detected. Select a folder to update drivers from. In this case it would be the CD ROM drive. 5. let Vista search for drivers update them, then reboot. 6. Once system has booted up again, take clothes off and stand infront of webcam and take as many pictures as you like *giggles*

Hey, that works. But, I did something wrong... well I thought I did. I thought I loaded Vista as a dual boot. so I formatted again and reloaded. Now having so much trouble with loading quickcam4000. Also my TV Tuner card is playing up. It was working before. Now onemore time for the dummies. (Thats me incase you were wondering). How do I get the drivers for XP to work? Do I put in the disc for QC4000 and search from there? Any help would be greatly appreciated. *much respect*
