  1. Yup - correct. What it doesn't explain, of course, is why there were "2 Outlooks" running in the first place, if you see what I mean.... Have you checked by A-C-D'ing? Fingers crossed for you, but it certainly solved the problem on mine. Good luck!
  2. Strange, this... I had exactly the same problem a few weeks ago - Outlook '02, XP. When I checked (Ctrl-Alt-Del, Processes) I saw that outlook.exe was featured twice, although not with the same number Mem Usage column. Switched tabs to Applications, and there was only 1 mention. Re-booted, and (on purpose) started Outlook, clicked Send/Receive - and got your error messages. Checked the above again - 2 exe's running. Before the next re-boot I disabled the send/receive settings (mine checks every 10 minutes or something) and then checked again....all OK this time - just the one process. Conclusion was that for some reason best known to itself, the start-up process had tripped in twice, but if you then "interrupted" it by trying a send/receive, it fell over..... Hopefully some help .....and Merry Christmas to you either way!
  3. Hate to bump my own messages, but.... No takers on this one?
  4. Could this be IE7's equivalent to the old "Active content cannot be shown" warning message? You remember the yellow bar that ran across the window top? I haven't got IE7 so I can't test the theory...
  5. Some, but by no means all.... Most ebook compiler programmes these days work with html pages, which allow not only text but graphics and even flash fx if/when necessary. The strange thing about this particular one is that it's completely standalone - there are apparently not even website references in it, let alone links.....so why is IE7 giving the web page error message? Beats me.....
  6. A pal of mine has downloaded an ebook...We've both got XP SP2, I've got IE6 and the book runs fine. He's got IE7 and gets 'Navigation to the webpage was canceled', even though it's simply a standalone presentation - no connection required to run. Any ideas how he can solve it please?
  7. Evening.... How somebody can help out here! Until recently, I was using Outlook rules to send templated replies to incoming PayPal customers. Fine, when the sender was shown as joepublic@whatever.com, but recently PP have changed the sender's format to 'sendmail@PP.com on behalf of joepublic@....' and so on, which of course meant that my replies were heading off into an abyss! Is there any way I can use the rules in Outlook 02 to (in effect) ignore the 'sendmail@' bit and still send mail to joepublic? Thanks in advance for your responses ....and Merry Christmas in advance!
