  1. Hi, I did follow scrupulously the guide for Office 2003 Slipstreaming. Evertthink goes fine. As the commands in the MSFN guide NOT return any message telling that the process was indeed successful, I add to the end of each command /Lie F:\FileName_log.txt ex: msiexec /p F:\Office2003_SP1\MAINSP1ff.msp /a F:\Office2003\PRO11.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb msiexec /p F:\Office2003_SP1\MAINSP1ff.msp /a F:\Office2003\PRO11.msi SHORTFILENAMES=TRUE /qb /Lie F:\OffSP1Main_log.txt Moreover, here bellow the Office 2003 size after each updtae Administrative Installation Point Office2003 size = 654 479 KB size after MAINSP1ff.msp (SP1 update)= 660 823 KB size after OWC11SP1ff (SP1 update)= 660 843 KB size after Office 2003 Alternative User Input (office2003-kb870774-fullfile-enu.exe --> MSCTF.msp)= 660 863 KB size after French Grammar Checker (office2003-kb873381-fullfile-enu.exe --> MSGR3FRff.msp)= 661551 KB size after Outlook 2003 Junk E-mail (office2003-kb870765-fullfile-enu.exe --> OUTLFLTR.msp)=664 094 KB The log files here attached show that, although all the Updtaes Installation was completed successfully, there is a DEBUG ERROR on the operation starting. Do the installation SP1 + updtaes was realy completed successfully??? Regards coucou
  2. Hi, I notice that the size of the Slipstreamed/Integrated Office2003 SP1 has multiplied by 1.6. In fact, the Office2003 size= 400MB Office 2003 Service Pack 1 Administrative Update (Office2003SP1-kb842532-fullfile-enu.exe)= 73MB The final size of the slipstreamed Office2003 SP1= 640MB How it's possible??? Is there any how to decrease that size??? Regards coucou
  3. Hi VAD, First of all TNX for yr help. I notice that the size of the Slipstreamed/Integrates SP1 MUI has multiplied by 3. In fact, the Office2003 MUI (1036/French)= 93.4MB The MUI2003SP1CD[*French part only]-kb843187-fullfile-enu.exe file (*MUISP1_FRAff.msp)= 20MB After slipstream/integration= 290MB How it's possible??? Is there any how to decrease that size??? BTW, same for Office2003 + SP1, I'll open a new post for that. Regards coucou
  4. Good Job VAD Thank you! As you're familiar with the MUI, may i ask you 2 questions. 1) Could I apply this same guide for slipstreaming (integrating) WinXP MUI SP2 with Cumulative Help Update for Microsoft Windows XP Multilingual User Interface (MUI) Pack (KB841625). or you have an improval WinXP SP2 MUI slipstreaming guide. 2) I'm preparing a DVD unattended WinXP SP2 + WinXP SP2 MUI + Office 2003 SP1 + Office 2003 SP1 MUI + other appz. Could I use the Method 2 - Setup.ini of your Office 2003 MUI installation guide??? Regards coucou
  5. Hello, I use the MSFN guide to slipstream my Office 2003 SP1. It is a real nice and friendly guide to use. However, regarding the updtaes, i need more info. Slipstreaming Updates (Section2) I've downloaded office2003-kb870765-fullfile-enu.exe MUI2003SP1CD1-kb843187-fullfile-enu.exe MUI2003SP1CD5-kb843187-fullfile-enu.exe 1) Except the .msp file, there are 3 more files (ofotfix.exe, ofotfixr.dll, ofotfix.ini) Do they not needed to be extracted to C:\O2003updates\ folder??? 2) As you notice here above, i have 2 updtaes for the MUI office 2003 SP1. Do I add them to the slipstream updates? In fact, in normal installation, the Office appz is installes first, then the MUI pack and finally the MUI update. What if, i slipstream Office +MUISP1 update, the installation start with the office, then the updtaes (MUI SP1 updtae included), and finally the MUI pack. Am I right??? TNX for yr help coucou

  8. Hi ChunkDog, I ran "services.msc" again and Checked "Automatic updates" service, is turned on automatic. As I have No way to make Udate Automatically, I have connected to: Have your Firewall and Automatic Updates turned ON automatically and I clicked on "Start Here" button Here bellow the message I got: 1) Use an Internet Firewall "Windows has detected that youare not using the internet connection firewall that is built into Windows XP." " Turn on Internet Connection Firewall" (press button) 2) Get Computer Updates No action required. The Automatic Updates is being managed by your network administrator As you can see I have no action on the Automatic Updates. In other hand, As I'm the Administrator of this home network, how do I access to the "Network Administrator " heading and setting the automatic updates??? Regards coucou
  9. Hi, @ChunkDog: In fact I can't right now to update my Desktop to SP1. I checked My systems they are Up to date. Regarding the Background Intelligent Transfer Service, it was setted to Manual in both, I set it to automatic. Still NO success with my network ShareDocs (the Internet allway fine) and NO automatic Update on both computer too. Regards coucou
  10. I don't know what's happen here the rest of my reply. Sorry to disapointing you... you made a mistake. This network is ONLY home network (Desktop with SP1 + Laptop with SP2). I installed it by the Network Connections/Setup of home or small office network. There is NO Domain (empty), there is only a Workgroup + Computer name. Moreover, as I have a Router, the Firewall is disabled on both PC's and I'm the Administrator Regards coucou

  12. Hi, I2 days ago, I've installed WinXP SP2. A priori, it's working fine except 2 problems: Automatic Update, Local Network. Automatic Update: Automatic Update was checked ON. Today is turned OFF. I try changing this setting on the Security Center and on the Control Panel/Sytem/Automatic Update, No way to set it ON everything is grey. Local Network: I have a wireless network: Router + 1 Desktop (WinXP SP1) + 1 Laptop (WinXP SP2). I have to say that The Internet connexion allways works fine. When the laptop had WinXP SP1 everything worked fine (Internet and the ShareDocs, Printer and Fax... between the 2 machines) Since I installed the SP2 on the Laptop, I'm enabled to be connected from the Laptop to the Desktop ShareDocs but, I'm not enabled to be connected from the Desktop to the Laptop ShareDocs even I see those Network folders on the Desktop machine. Whatever I do (rename/reinstall/reconfigure) the Network I can't connect to the Laptop ShareDocs from the Desktop machine. I hope i was clear. TNX for yr help coucou

  14. Hi, I started the Windows XP Professional SP2 Pre Integrated installation. As in normal installation, it ask for the user name, Organisation, product key, time zone... then the first reboot and then.... it's hanging up with the MS Windows XP logo. I got a same problem with a slipstreamed SP2 The only way to install SP2 was installing a slipstreamed WinXP SP1 first then updated it to SP2. The problem is the SP2 update is added HUUUUGE amounts of data to my hard drive... 2GB Why couldn't i install Windows XP SP2 (Pre Integrated or slipstremed)??? Is there any way updating SP2 without adding an extar data of 2GB??? TNX for yr help coucou

To make myself more clever, 1)what difference between ProductID and ProductKey and When do i have to use the one instead the other or together? 2) regarding the drivers, Ok for Deleting ther \ in red, but what about the first one "Drivers\ATI\Catlys34\2KXP_INF; 3) Finally, why the parameters here bellow (in Red) doesn't works when they looks fine to everybody? Regards coucou
