Hi, I was preparing the Office 2003 Unattended in Advanced method. During the Office 2003 installation customization with the Custom Installation Wizard, on page 9/24 "Customize Default Application settings", i also insert my "settings profile" file.ops. Everythink goes fine. At the end... when i click on Finish the system start calculation for generating the Unattended.MST file... and i got the error message (see attached image): The MSI and MST you opened do not require a specific codepage, but some text in the Application Settings profile (OPS file) requires codepage Windows 3.1 US (ANSI) [1252]. If you continue the MST will be limited to input from this codepage and can only be used to install on systems supporting this codepage. For codepage related help... Does anyone can help to resolve that??? Regards coucou

Hi all, First of all Many TNX for the advise. I tested Resplendent Registrar and Registry Workshop. Both works fine and have approximately the same functions: Compare, Defragment, Backup and Restore Registry. A Good point for Resplendent Registrar with Registry Monitor as additional function. Neverless, I tested "Find" and "Export" for Roxio (v7) registry. I got with Resplendent Registrar give and a 1,5MB file (many lines are doubled) when Registry Workshop only 300KB. Anyway I keep them both Regards coucou

Hi, 1) All relocating pathname/folders "winnt.sif command" i found are here bellow [GuiUnattended] ProfilesDir="C:\Documents and Settings\" [Unattended] ProgramFilesDir="C:\My Program Files" As "My Documents" & "Favorites" pathnames/folders are a subfolders of "C:\Documents and Settings\" How do I relocate them into D: (disk) during the unattended installation??? Actually, I modify the registry after the installation [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\User Shell Folders] exapmle key value "Personal" Data modified to "D:\My Documents". 2) What the universal "My Documents" & "Favorites" pathnames are in windows? INST_IE_ADDIN=A => Install the Internet Explorer add-in. INST_FM_ADDIN=A => Install the FrameMaker add-in. START_NOW=A => Launch SnagIt immediately after installation is complete. • SNAGIT.REG — Custom default application settings. It should be The Snagit.reg file should contain (for registration) REGEDIT4 [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\TechSmith\SnagIt\7\] "RegistrationKey"="xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx" "RegisteredTo"="xxxxxx" Here the RunOnceEx.cmd switches REG ADD %KEY%\010 /VE /D "Snagit 7.x.x" /f REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Snagit\SnagIt.exe /S /M=instvar.txt" /f REG ADD %KEY%\010 /V 2 /D "REGEDIT /S %CDROM%\Software\Snagit\SnagIt.reg" /f Note: If no installer variable file (INSTVAR.TXT) exists, the /S switch will still silently run SnagIt’s setup with the default setup options. Roxio Easy Media Creator 7 & Update Silent Install
coucou replied to neo_3333's topic in Application Installs
Hi, I've searched for a long time for this too. HERE the only answer founded... from Roxio TNX Mercury_22 for this Sharing. I just get the latest update 7.1.1.189 (122MB), and installed it. The system ask to load the EMC7 CD during this update installation and to Reboot at the end install. You'll be kind to glance at the silent install command bellow REG ADD %Key%\032 /VE /D "Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.1" /f REG ADD %KEY%\032 /V 1 /D "\"%CDROM%\Software\Roxio\Roxio Easy Media Creator 7.msi\" " SERIALNUMBER=" "xx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx" ALLUSERS=1 REBOOT=Suppress REBOOTPROMPT=S /qr" /f REG ADD %KEY%\032 /V 1 /D "%CDROM%\Software\Roxio\Roxio update70to71.exe REBOOT=Suppress REBOOTPROMPT=S /qr" /f You may notice that i did not use the SERIALNUMBER=" "xx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx" ALLUSERS=1 for the update70to71.exe line. Moreover, I have trouble with the number of quotation marks in yr command I guess one quotation mark missed in " SERIALNUMBER=" "xx-xxxxx-xxxxx-xxxxx". Isn't it???TNX for yr help coucou -

FIX for Norton Antivirus 2005 Reg. & Activation
coucou replied to jbright's topic in Application Installs
Hi, I 'm using Symantec Antivirus Corporate and i purchased Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2005. NIS 2005 force me to use the Norton Anti-Virus that came with it. But i prefer using Symantec Antivirus Corporate. I know there is a conflict between the Antivirus Corporate and the Antivirus included in NIS 2005 when they are both installed. Is there any how to install only the Firewall and the AntiSpam that came with the NIS 2005??? Thanks for yr help. coucou -
Hi Tuned MP5T, I have the same problem as you. I had Norton Internet Security (NIS) 2004 working fine with Symantec Antivirus Corporate. In fact, during NIS 2004 installation, it only need to uncheck "Norton Antivirus" option installation and we enjoy with the Firewall (NIS), AntiSpam (NIS) and Symantec Corporate Virus protection. The actual NIS 2005 has no more this option. I didn't solve that problem yet. DID YOU??? Thanks to let me know further. coucou

Hi VAD, TNX for the PM I post a new thread regarding CDimage/CD Optimizing CDIMAGE HEEEEEELP! coucou

@prathapml: First of all TNX for yr replying Regarding yr reply, I try to be more clear. My final target is to get a DVD with all in it, WinXP + WinXP MUI, Office 2003 + Office 2003 MUI (including the latest SP’s and hotfix), Antivirus, Firewall, AntiSpy, Multimedia appz and tools & utilities… As, I have already the Official Win XP Pro VLM SP2 Pre Integrated, I start slipstreaming Office 2003 AIO with the Office 2003 SP1 + the updates. I slipstreamed the MUI too (2 languages: French +Hebrew) with MUI SP1. Slipstreaming successfully. My original CD’s of Office 2003 AIO (5 CD’s: Office, Frontpage, OneNote, Project and Visio) as well as the MUI’s have a .CAB files. After having carried out the slip-streaming of SP1, I NOT sees any .CABs. Is there any how to recompress the Slipstreamed SP1 with .CAB files? In fact, the size is more down with the .CABs than with CDIMAGE. You’re probably right! The AIO I have is a legal one, I got it from xBetas.com. Here the size details:Office 2003 AIO (original)= 582 662KB AIO SP1= 215 976KB (Office=73 906, Frontpage= 73 906, OneNote= 19649, Project=26022, Visio= 22493) AIO updates= 14 800KB Slipstreamed Office 2003 AIO SP1= 1 821 806KB Final Office 2003 AIO SP1 created by CDIMAGE= 936 288KB Original MUI (Fr+Heb)= 170 626KB MUI SP1= 32 000 KB Slipstreamed MUI SP1= 542 241 KB Final MUI SP1 created by CDIMAGE= 513 864 KB EXACT!I hope I was clear this time. Do you think that you can help me??? TNX to let me know further. Regards couocu
