  1. If the other computers are on the same workgroup, try typing "\\*****" (without quotes, and where ***** is the name of another computer it should be able to see within the workgroup) and see if it gives an error message, or shows the shares on that computer. I had a problem with Windows Me that sounds very similar to yours.
  2. Beta1TR also had the Office orb, instead of "File" etc. I'm sure Beta 1 TR has expired and would be unusable without changing the system date (That or straight Beta 1, I put it on an unattended DVD, and its really useless).
  3. When my Windows 2003 box starts up it displays the "One or more services failed to start... view the event viewer for more information" or similarly worded dialog. When I go to the event viewer, it shows two System errors: With Event ID: 7000and My system works fine however. Is it possible to remove the startup message? (The server does what I want it to and I'm not sure how to fix these messages).
  4. Hi all, my name's Nick, I'm from Australia. It's great to have finally joined a forum like this I can program in Borland Delphi and a couple of less widespread languages (JADE and Pascal - I learned Pascal before Delphi), but that's about all of my programming knowledge. I love MSFN's unattended install guide, and MSFN's Win2003 tweak guide, as well as Flyakite (A dual-booting website hosted by MSFN) and finally decided to register here.
  5. I've had a look at your program, however I can't make sense of what works/doesn't and what the requisites of the project are. Your computers major project could be an interesting challenge. Do you want us to finish the project or did you want help doing it?
  6. It could be handy code to have around After all, not too many people are using NT4 to write guides about anymore.
  7. Apparently the Vista team really likes the new sounds as well, this post on a Microsoft (or Ex-Microsoft) blogger's site pretty much sums the issue up; according to him the start-up sound is so good that it's likely to be non-customizable. I can't wait.
