poll....who wants a slipstream walk through for the promise chipsets?

That's all well and good for you to say as a seasoned pro but that guy was a newbie at the time of writing/posting so obviously he wouldn't know that it had been covered time and time again - doh! Please show some patience to newbies - thanx! I don't see these in the mass driver pack? [only: viaMraid]...

there are an awful lot of newbies (& others) on here who frequently say: more detail please elaborate be more specific etc etc You see it's OK the experts saying that newbies can't be bothered and that newbies want the experts to do it all for them without any effort.... ....but IMHO the experts can't be bothered to explain things sufficiently to the novice; an awful lot is assumed of the novice user who may infact need a full blown [detailed] walk through procedure rather than an 'off the cuff' one liner! Those remarks leave newbies baffled to say the least. I think I speak on behalf of many many people here? THIS IS JUST AN OBSERVATION NOT AN ATTEMPTED INSULT ON ANYONE IN PARTICULAR. raskren, a06lp, erik_demon, hp38guser, Bilou_Gateux, Pyron, schalti, RogueSpear, RyanVM, Bâshrat the Sneaky, Kels, ETC ETC....... I could really use some help. There are many excellent posts of a high standard indeed; unfortunately most of it is 'double dutch' to me, it might as well be written in chinese. I've tried the drivers from CD simple method and the DP BASE techniques. ALL my drivers do install correctly except for the 6 that I have listed here: gravis game port, force & USB. MS Intellimouse Conexant modem LG L1915S monitor. These appear in the updates lists ONLY;yes I can click on them and they will install 'BUT!' I want them in the device list from the start of first boot into windows logon. IF THAT'S POSSIBLE? I don't mind learning and doing the leg work myself. I can access things like winnt.sif etc and edit them. I can create folder structures, extract driver files, duplicate and addon pre-written code to sections of files[]. Create ISO. Create CD/DVD. Use VM. Unpack Installers. Edit the registry 'with walk throughs'. Format & Partition. However, I can't usually understand or create codes, scripts, cmd's, etc. Neither am I that good with the command window (DOS is it?) I have already slipstreamed winxp_sp2, used RVM, nLite, WPI, & DP Packs & Base. Created DPs. I am humbled by your expertise and would appreciate your help on this matter! Windows XP Setup program may stop responding during video driver installation setup program has not stopped responding. It's a moniotr driver (LG) not a video/grx driver (nVidia). DriverSigningPolicy=ignore nonDriverSigningPolicy=ignore the driver is signed (it has a .cat)

...sort of the same here as well: monitor mouse modem I have to point to them (i.e. not automatic) seems no one knows?

I have collected these drivers with driver genius or DGT but the inf file doesn't list any [resourcedisksfiles] even though there are several in each folder? I want to put them in to a driverpack in the driverpack base but can't figure out how this will work for the above mentioned reason? Any help gratefully received!!

all my application programs are inside a setup.exe package/file. what do I need to extract the contents of a setup.exe and modify the contents so that it will install as an unattended (silent/quiet) package as activated by WPI? At the moment I have to be there all the time to keep pressing "next, next, next.....and finish", I want these to install automatically on their own like the dotnet switchless and jre508 does! thanx in advance

...in the WPI usermanual it says to download the tools seperately which I have done! Do I need to add these tools to the TOOLS folder on the CD image (e.g. PEiD.exe....etc etc)?? At the moment it only contains: Sleep, reschange and fonts! ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Also, in the winnt.sif file in the [data] section (for manual control of format and partitioning) do I just chage autopartion=1 to 0? OR Do I need to delete the other entries in that section as well? In the [unattended] section do I just add: FileSystem=* ???
