  1. Anyone? Have now narrowed it down to 2, and have tried them on seperate Cd's, still no luck.

    Code 4

No, Before loading the setup, it gave Error Code 4. Nothing else. It didn't even start the blue screen.

    Code 4

Got past the Code 4 error, but still not managed to get this working. Didn't realise I got any replies here as I was expecting an email notification, so apologies or starting a new thread here: http://www.msfn.org/board/index.php?showtopic=80782
  4. hi, I have now wasted dozens of CDR's (dont have CDRW's lol) trying to incorporate SATA drivers in my fresh install. I have gone through code 4 errors, and had some without error. However, none seem to work - tried as normal drivers and textmode (not sure what the difference is?) Anyway, The drivers I'm trying to slipstream are VIA SATA RAID Controller. Currently, I have installed to an IDE drive for temporary measure.... The last XP CD I made had the right drivers on in location I386\NLDRV\001 + 002 + 003 - I wasn't sure which ones worked, so used them all in nLite (maybe thats the problem?). I have been unable to identify the difference between them, as they all have the same date/time attributes and same file size. But anyway, It just won't work. What's more annoying is the fact that the Windows Setup doesn't find my floppy drive to get the drivers off there. Can someone tell me where I'm going wrong? All I wanna do is have a fresh XP install on my SATA drive, without having to use an IDE drive first. Thanks RY

    Code 4

I should add, when I don't get a code 4, the setup starts fine, but still doesn't find the SATA Drive.

    Code 4

Hi, I have modified an install by adding some SATA drivers to it - everything else I left untouched. Upon boot, the CD gives me error code 4 (not sure what that is).... can anyone tell me why? If it helps, I am using an already slipstreamed SP2 CD (release by ETH0). Is this likely to cause any problems? Not sure what was used to make the original. Really getting bored without my desktop, so would be good to get it going again, without having to go out and buy a redudent floppy disk drive. Thanks
