  1. If you have the same make and model and they work correctly, then its probably a hardware issue. Why not build "the old way" update using dell auto interigate, you should then be able to see the exact drivers for your model! At the moment, thats all i can sugest sorry, but there again, someone answering may lead to another knowing what the issue is. All the best....
  2. I my experience if u have the wrong NiC drivers it will tell you wrong NiC, if you have wrong graphic drivers it will tell you wrong graphic drivers...!
  3. I have a similar issue where I RIPPREP'd an IBM ThinkPad R60. When you "RIS" using that image, all works fine apart from the mouse/nipple touchpad. They seem to be dead untill you log into windows XP, they will once the desktop appears work! i have tried removing the mouse from device manager but the same! i have also reinstalled IBM ultranav software! Any clues anyone?

  5. Probably an issue with permissions on either the image folders or AD account, not sure but that may help!

I have an issue which seems to be on X60 laptops and A52 desktops where RIS works fine, machine is added to AD, setup runs, I thien have registry entries added for auto login to complete app install. The problem is, when it gets to ALT-CTRL-DEL screen, it doesnt auto log in! This works fine on all the other models we have! I think its the speed of the laptop\desktop. I need to some how slow the booting of the machine or am I wrong?
  7. What are you trying to do exactly? Give more details, try putting a copy of sif file so we can see!
  8. if u have installed RIS from windows setup cd, then you may be able to start the service "Remote Installation"
  9. Thanks for that, I did see that when i was delving around. Guess theres no way to change reg in hive before installing windows?
  10. Sorry bout my bad english! I am creating an unnattended install, I want to change the default M$ desktop blue for white. This must be for all users, could someone help me find the registry key for this or how to added custom defs to the .STF file when building? Many thanks
