  1. okay, so i am a complete newbie id***, but for what reason are you hitting Ctrl+C during the call to hotfix.exe in your: ^CTerminate Batch Job? Y/N example? Does the machine get hung up? If nothing else, the non-appearance of the 'cannot find...' message probably indicates that you've successfully called hotfix.exe. So it would seem that your original problem has been solved in favor (?) of a different one, i.e., why is it taking so long to run hotfix.exe that you are compelled to hit Ctrl+C? Slower machine? Hope this helps and isn't a waste of anyone's time. :-)
  2. In no particular order but ZAP & NAV are critical: 01. ZoneAlarm Pro 02. Norton AntiVirus Professional 03. AIDA32 04. Exact Audio Copy w/LAME encoder & NERO ASPI layer 05. WINRAR 06. Winamp 2.91 (the AVS alone makes it a must; 2x series cuz I hate WASABI GUI-side) 07. SpyBot S&D 08. HijackThis! (I wish it was called "Analyze This!" because that is the stupidest title for a movie ever) 09. DVDXCopy 0A. Add Remove Plus 2002 0B. Quick View Plkus 0C. ACDSee (32 or whatever) OK, and the following late-breaking admissions 0D. WinXP Pro 0E. OfficeXP 0F. Ethereal w/ WinPcap 10. Yahoo! Messenger 11. Windows Messenger 12. System Mechanic 4 13. Kzaa Lie K++ 2.4 14. WinMX OK, so not exactly 10...
  3. everybody just HOLD ON!!! For the love of GOD, won't you let the poor boy install Norton Antivirus, Corporate Edition?! But seriously, the following may or may not be 100% accurate, but it is acurate in my experience. 1) I attempted an installation of NAV Corporate onto a WinXP_SP1 machine joined to a workgroup, which generated (after installation?) a message informing me that Corp. edition could not be installed on a standalone workstation/non-domain computer. 2) A friend/fellow computer nerd recently attempted to install NAV Pro (non-Corporate) on a compuer running win2000 Advanced server and generated a message stating that NAV Pro could not or would not run on a server. I hope the preceding was helpful. If anyone has had a contradictory experience with either of these scenarios, please flame me. I hate spreading misinformation. K
