Windows Installer 3.1

Hi Dear

My windows XP pro Auto updater promt me to update Windows installer to 3.1 but unfortunalt every time update fail to install the new version of installer.

I manually downloaded the installer 3.1 from MS web site, and attempt to install it, after I click on setup file ,after few seconds a message pop up and says "Access denied".

I am logged in As Admin, I also creted new user with admin right to install non of them worked.

I would strongly suggest running regmon and filemon (both from http://www.sysinternals.com) while attempting to install the Windows Installer 3.1 update. If you are receiving an "Access Denied" error message, you will see that in either the regmon or filemon output - this will tell you where (either on disk or in the registry) you are being denied, and you can then resolve that issue and continue the installation successfully.

right-click on HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT in regedit, and add my user name in Special permissions
