Desktop icons move

Hi,

I have began to use Vista and came across a problem. When I have files on the desktop and close out of a file, like MS Word. The file icon reverts back to the left side of my desktop, the file icon was originally at a different location on my desktop. The same thing happens upon windows startup every time I turn my computer on. I do not have the "auto arrange" checked under desktop properties.

Please help.
