kipper1 Posted June 18, 2007 Posted June 18, 2007 Hello,As part of my job I am required to setup computers with XP Pro, MS Office Pro, SQL Server as well as our own software. Currently I setup the machines manually and would like to automate this process. The machines we use currently vary although we usually buy 3 or more each time. In the near future we will be using a standardised computer system such as Dell.I would like to produce 1 installation disk which I can use on a number of systems (with same spec). My question is what do I do about entering a product key?I was under the impression each machine required a unique key. If I leave this field blank then the unattended installation stops untill I enter a key!Can I use the same key for each installation then put in the correct key during activation? Can I use nlite to slipstream the other programs into the installation?I also keep getting error 'setup cannot copy the file: plugin.ocx' when using the unattended installation disk I have produced. I am running Microsoft Virtual Machine to perform this installation. Many thanks,Chris.
artis Posted June 23, 2007 Posted June 23, 2007 I have 3 Fujitsu siemens pc's. They all use the same key. But to check each key, use magic jelly bean or rockxp. Create a disk with the latest updates using nlite. There is an add on list for different applications, but the one's you want are not on the list. I would add the applications you want, then use ghost or a similar cloning software, then try installing to another pc. That is, if the pc's are the same. But, I'm not sure if you will be able to do that if you don't have the correct license key for MS Office Pro. Rockxp can change this after you complete the install.
