Hi, since Microsoft has removed the Apple Talk protocol I would need a replacement.

I found a commercial version where the demo didn't even work with OS X 10.4.9

Is there a free version of Apple Talk available for Windows XP ?

I have searched but cant find any free ones. I found one that looks like its ok, but its a demo that only works for 180 minutes before you need to reboot.

I think I found the same which did not work on OS X 10.4.9 - I got all sorts of error messages and people in the community assume that the reason is the newer AFP - I don't really know if this is true - but it doesn't change the fact that it didn't work - for whatever reason :P

I THINK its the same as that particular version expired after 180 minutes.

Is there any reason you aren't using TCP/IP on MacOS X?

When connecting to our NAS using AppleTalk gives us a bit of a performance boost .. Even though the NAS does support both, TCP/IP and AppleTalk, it takes longer to copy data from and to the NAS using TCP.
