Hi there

I don't like the start menu and therefore I've lots of toolbars on the quick lauch

Is there any way to restore these folders while setup or after setup at their exact locations?

anyone?

Its stored in C:\Documents and Settings\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\

Try this, put all your shortcuts and other folders in Quick Launch to here:

C:\XPCD\$OEM$\$Docs\%username%\Application Data\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch\

I doubt their placement on the quick launch toolbar is saved though...

Do as Aaron says for the shortcuts. For the positioning, place them as you like on a clean system, reboot the system to update the registry (a step I have forgotten tooooo many times), export the following reg keys, and import them into the registy during the GUI Setup section (i.e. CMDLINES.TXT).

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Defaults]
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Streams\Desktop]

You will also pick up a few other desktop settings with this.

I've them on separete folder lol I know where quick launch is located :)

those are 8 different folders each doing a sep purpose

I've them at

d:\documents\my quick launch\web

d:\documents\my quick launch\cd-rw

d:\documents\my quick launch\games etc...

so its 8 different toolbars

off topic ok I know what svcpack and winnt.sif and *.bat, *.cmd files but what purpose does cmdlines.txt have? do I need it if I'm doing the .cmd thing?
