DarkBringer Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 During my unattended installation of NTI CD-Maker I noticed it would stop installing ASPI drivers and then move on to the next app. When I open the program an error message pops up saying "No Supported Drives Detected".Now, of course, I can't use it because it won't see the drives and hence the discs.(I really like this program because it's the only one I know that reads multi-session discs)You think it has to do with my registry settings?;Changes Windows Driver Signing Policy 'Prompt' to 'Ignore'[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Driver Signing]"Policy"=hex:00;Remove & Disable Shared Documents from My Computer[-HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\MyComputer\NameSpace\DelegateFolders\{59031a47-3f72-44a7-89c5-5595fe6b30ee}][HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer]"NoSharedDocuments"=dword:00000001;This will add "Services" to the right-click menu of "My Computer" [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\services] @=hex(2):53,00,65,00,72,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00,73,00,00,00 "SuppressionPolicy"=dword:4000003c [HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D}\shell\services\command] @=hex(2):25,00,77,00,69,00,6e,00,64,00,69,00,72,00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73, 00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00,32,00,5c,00,6d,00,6d,00,63,00,2e,00,65,00,78,00, 65,00,20,00,2f,00,73,00,20,00,25,00,53,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,52, 00,6f,00,6f,00,74,00,25,00,5c,00,73,00,79,00,73,00,74,00,65,00,6d,00,33,00, 32,00,5c,00,73,00,65,00,72,00,76,00,69,00,63,00,65,00,73,00,2e,00,6d,00,73, 00,63,00,20,00,2f,00,73,00,00,00;This adds the "Open Command Window Here" on the right-click menu for folders[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd]@="Open Command Window Here"[HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\Directory\shell\cmd\command]@="cmd.exe /k \"cd %L\"";Disable the Desktop Cleanup Wizard[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Desktop\CleanupWiz]"NoRun"=dword:00000001;Disables Error Reporting, but notifies when errors occur[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\PCHealth\ErrorReporting]"DoReport"=dword:00000000;Disable Messenger Service (to block spam. Westi Posted October 21, 2003 Posted October 21, 2003 Nero has it's own ASPI driver.Install just ASPI 4.6 (imho 4.7 is a little bit buggy)Use "aspinit.exe silent" for an unattended installation.
DarkBringer Posted October 22, 2003 Author Posted October 22, 2003 Well I was unable to find v4.6 but I got v4.7 and installed it but I'm still getting the same error. Ugh.The thing is, NTI CD-Maker automatically installs it's ASPI drivers after the software installation but something is preventing it from doing so. And for the life of me I can't understand why. What could cause it?(I'm really frustrated because I need this app.)
DarkBringer Posted October 24, 2003 Author Posted October 24, 2003 Does anyone else use this program or have this problem?
RyanVM Posted October 24, 2003 Posted October 24, 2003 I don't use NTI, but I do install the Adaptec ASPI 4.71.2 drivers. What I did was look at their install batch and "borrowed" the commands they used with some modifications ECHO Installing Adaptec ASPI 4.71.2...CALL %systemdrive%\Updates\aspi\REG_XP.EXECOPY %systemdrive%\Updates\aspi\ASPIXP.SYS %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\DRIVERS\ASPI32.SYS /YCOPY %systemdrive%\Updates\aspi\WNASPIXP.DLL %WINDIR%\SYSTEM32\WNASPI32.DLL /YThis is the EXACT same function "install.bat xp32" does.
