Problem With 2 Hardrives.

I have 2 hardrives.

Both NTFS based and one with XP,the other the slave.

Here is my problem.

I tried to drag a 1gig folder with subfolders and files into my 2nd drive.

It did some of the folder but after a while I got an error message that said

"Data Error:cyclic redundancy check."

Any idea why.

Now anytime I try to copy over a file or folder I get this error.

Go to the manufacturers web site for the brand of drive. Get the diagnostics and run the long test. Depending on the brand you may be able to run the diagnostics in Windows.

You see alot of those errors with cds. Normal means a bad sector. Do as techtype and scan your disk for bad sectors.
