Problems With Games in Vista

Hello, I have a very annoying problem. I just shelled out a bunch of money for a new computer that could run all the games I have at top speed and also run up and coming games very well. But the problem is I can't get them to work!! I don't know if it is because of Vista, or if it is because of my hardware but (for example) I go to play Supreme commander and it just crashes a minuite into the game. I have tried running the games in administrator mode, but that doesn't work either.

I have the FX-62 processor, 2 GB of RAM and a 8800 GTX video card, so I really don't understand why I my games are not running. I have updated as many drivers as I possibly can, and all with vista 64 upgrades.

If anyone has any hints that could get me up and gaming they would be much appreciated!

That is pretty random. I'd like to think that the lack of responces on this page are simply a lack of people posting who don't know what's going on either.

I think I'd start out with the error files the games will typicaly generate. Try checking your game's folders for crash reports, and upload them. It sounds like it could potentialy be an issue with Dirext X.
