Question about Domain Trusts and File Protection

Featured Replies

Hi, I was hoping you guys could help point me in the direction to find what I need for an upcoming conversion.

We have a Win2k3 Server and due too some restrictions we had we were required to have 2 Firewalls blocking our server from our parent company in another country. Now we maybe having these restrictions lifted and might be able to setup some kind of domain trust between the two domains, BUT we have to have some form of security in place to keep certain files COMPLETELY blocked from them.

My question is, Is this just a normal Domain Trust setup? Does it support that kind of feature? I unfortunitly dont have alot of experience in AD, so I'm looking for specific items to look up and study to do this when the time comes, any info/insist you could give I would be greatful. Thanks!

Consider a security-filtered forest trust, assuming these are two different forests. You can read more about it here to start. If you're going to be the one implementing this, you definitely have some reading to do :).
