Setting up Standby Mode

Alright i would like to set up standby mode in my XP. The computer goes into standby mode perfectly, the fans shut off and the pc shuts down but at resume the internet stops working. I have an integrated LAN card. My xp was installed with S3 is setup in the BIOS. My network card is a Intel PRO/100 that came with my Dell PC. How do i force my network card to come out of standby? I have the current drivers installed for the network card and i also have USB Mouse that works perfectly after standby...

Uncheck the box that reads "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power" under Power Management in NIC's properties.
