rkobiske Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Is there anyway i can disable nlite.inf from running each time a new user profile is created on a server? My problem is that if i change a service from Manual to Automatic, when a new user logs in and a profile is created, nlite.inf is run and the service is set back to manual. I'd like to have that inf file run only once, and then never again. Is this possible? I've read a few places where it says i can disable the use of nlite.inf, but in version 1.3.5 i cant seem to find any place to disable the use of this file. Thanks in advance for any help.
nuhi Posted May 14, 2007 Posted May 14, 2007 Thank you for reporting that, nlite.inf on new user creation should only apply the Current User section, not the services entries. I'll be sure to check and correct that.About disabling nlite.inf before installation, no...that would be wrong. What you can do, I guess would be enough, is to remove the nlite.inf from the Default user hive.Start Regedit and go toHKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunOnceremove nlite entry there. If that doesn't help then have some patience and I'll fix it.
rkobiske Posted May 14, 2007 Author Posted May 14, 2007 Thank. I think i'm going to remove the keys from the runonce user hive. I'll have the first user logon and the .inf file will process then i'll remove the keys. thanks for your help with this!
