Hi,

I do have a problem with installing MS Project and Visio silently.

I tried all the possibilities,

Way#1

- Copied all the files from CD to the network share drive.

- Edited the setup.ini and entered the key PIDKEY=XXXXXXX

- created a batch file and double-clicked which executes the command below

setup.exe /qn

ERROR: "Please go the Control Panel to install and configure system components"

-Tried to push "setup.exe \qb" via GFI Languard

ERROR: "Settings file C:\Windows\Patches\files\setup\setup.ini is missing or invalid. Please ensure that this file exists and is accessible. I know it is looking for setup.ini for Files\Setup\setup.ini

How can I let the setup file know where the setup.ini is?

/settings setup.ini does not work

/settings Files\Setup\Setup.ini does not work

Thank you

right i cant member this correctly so dont quote on me on this

but microsoft installers use an answer file, so you put all the required information in one file

you need to do an "admin install" of the software which will help you create the answer file, if you do a search around on google you wil come accross a guide and you can also integrete hotfixes and patches using this method

sorry i cant be of any more help

I created an admin install from the CD

msiexec /i prjstde.msi

It poped-up and I enetered the location on the server and entered the License Key. It finisihed the installation.

I still havet he same issue,

It cannot locate the setup.ini

But it is there under Files\Setup

/settings \\servername\Project 2003\Files\Setup\setup.ini does not work

Any sugegstions?
