jalyst Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Hi,I can't find my bloody original XP Pro CD... I noticed as I was going through nLite that it says if I want to integrate SPs, I should only add the newer of the two. Unfortuntely my only XP Pro source CD already has SP1 integrated. :-( Will it still work without complications if I go ahead and slipstream SP2 into this XPro w/SP1 source CD?Sincerely,JedP.Slove your work, and will make a dontation if everything goes smoothly.
Kelsenellenelvian Posted May 3, 2007 Posted May 3, 2007 Even though the ideal situation is using an xp gold cd and getting the newest SP you can integrate the sp2 over sp1 there will just be a couple of extra files on the cd...
jalyst Posted May 3, 2007 Author Posted May 3, 2007 Awesome, So it wont increse the size of the final installation, just the size of eveyrthing thats on the CD?How much will it increase the size of the cd? couple hundred MB?Is nlite the only tool one needs to create a fully unattended install with all the latest servicepacks, hotfixes, & driverpacks? My understandig is it's not just a slipstreamer, but it also allows one to remove vast chunks of XP not needed. Is that pretty much it, or is there more to it?Apart from the default profiles for removal of componants etc. Are there 3rd party ones made-up be people who have tested their work?Cheers,Jed
